"US will lose war", says former UN inspector
March 26 2003 at 06:42PM
Lisbon - The United States does not have the military means to take over Baghdad and will lose the war against Iraq, former United Nations weapons inspector Scott Ritter said.
"The United States is going to leave Iraq with its tail between its legs, defeated. It is a war we can not win," he told private radio TSF in an interview broadcast here Tuesday evening.
"We do not have the military means to take over Baghdad and for this reason I believe the defeat of the United States in this war is inevitable," he said.
"Every time we confront Iraqi troops we may win some tactical battles, as we did for ten years in Vietnam but we will not be able to win this war, which in my opinion is already lost," Ritter added.
'It is a war we can not win' Stiffening Iraqi resistance as US-led forces close in on Baghdad have prompted questions about the strategy to use precision air power and a smaller, fast moving ground force to topple Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
Some military analysts have said there are not enough allied troops in Iraq to take control of Baghdad, where Saddam Hussein's elite troops are said to be concentrated, and that the planning of the war was overly optimistic.
But British Prime Minister Tony Blair told parliament Wednesday the United States and Britain believe they have "sufficient forces" in Iraq and London was not planning to send reinforcements to the country at this stage.
A combination of bad weather and heavy fighting in central Iraq has slowed the advance of coalition troops marching on Baghdad.
Ritter resigned in August 1998 after accusing both Washington and the United Nations of not doing enough to support the weapons inspectors.
Since leaving the UN weapons inspectors team he has become an outspoken critic of US policies towards Iraq. - Sapa-AFP

I'm goofing, I love it when people bring the dictionary definition gambit out of their quiver. It's funny. Everyone is on edge right now, it's a perilous time. We're at war. We're on HIGH ALERT for a terrorist strike. Skinny little acne-ridden guys name Ahmed are dreaming about killing you, me, our families and everyone we know and love. Because we exist as free Americans. Some of those murderous animals are here, smiling at you and enjoying the American blessing.
Stuff is frustrating. It hurts to see guys like Daschele rub a wound when Bush is focused on being a serious War President for all. It's angering to watch Bush and the GOP forfeit their majority because Lincoln Chafee and either or all of Snowe/Spector/Collins/McCain want to be the Jaques Chirac of the Republican Party and demand ransom and extort pork for their support of every issue, in order that they wield "swing vote" power and influence. Jeffords-esque vile behavior.
But, we're getting a tax break, we're eating away at abortion and affirmative action, we've flipped the bird at the World Court, Kyoto Treaties, U.N. slavery and diplomacy detrimental to our national interest. The Homeland Security Agency WILL make our borders and immigration process honest and vigorous again. We have 47 solid Conservative votes in the Senate GOP caucus, and 04 can be a bonanza - 4 Conservative seats in the win column realistically.
We're gonna rip the innerds out of this rats nest of U.N. corruption, French sabotauge and the Islamic terror cult. Iraq is the first and most important step. Wait until we see where all their smuggled oil goes.
The Democrat Party is ... Al Sharpton, Michael Moore and Tom Daschele. They are as dismal and desperate as I have ever seen.
Things could be worse! The cemetaries are full of folks who wished they had our problems.

Scott Ritter is a pedophile w/ a penchant for young teenagers who needs his 15 minutes of fame fix once in while to feel like a man.

Thank you! I try to be funny, but it's sad to see what happened to this Ritter guy.
He was such a lovable goof on "Three's Company".

Oh yes, we're just really losing badly, Madame Ritter.
I can just see that with the surrenders by the Iraqis and the pathetic showing by the Republican Guard that's supposed to be so great.
Or, Madame Ritter, Are you insinuating that Iraq has Weapons of Mass Destruction that you claim they do not have?
That's the only way we will lose?
DMCG_98, do you think Scott would understand that rant at all?
I'm thinking not.
Worth a try anyway.

I wish someone would drop this idiot in the middle of a
platoon of Marine infantrymen or an Army Rangers unit and
see how white as a ghost he turns.
To: dmcg_98
OK, (sigh) here we go again!
To: dmcg_98
Ritter lost his mind; he is certifiable. Bring in the white suits and padded cell. He's a goner. His favorite movie is "One Flew Over the Koo Koos Nest"

He's "radioactive" all right. No TV network with half a brain will touch him. His commentary days are over and his marginalization is just beginning.

I think he's just setting up an insanity defense.

This just in, Scott Ritter also says the U.S. lost WWII, the Cold War and the Cola Wars.
