Speaker's Press Office
United States House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Statement of Speaker of the House J. Dennis Hastert
Regarding Senator Daschle's Comments on the War
"I'm saddened that the president failed so miserably at diplomacy that we are now forced into war," Senate Minority Leader Thomas A. Daschle (D-S.D.) told union workers yesterday.
(Washington D.C.) Speaker of the House J. Dennis Hastert responded to the above comments of Senator Daschle today:
"I was disappointed to see Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle's comments regarding the upcoming military action in Iraq. Those comments may not undermine the President as he leads us into war, and they may not give comfort to our adversaries, but they come mighty close.
"Senator Daschle has spent more time criticizing the leadership of President Bush than he has spent criticizing the tyranny of Saddam Hussein. Mr. Hussein is the reason we are at this moment in history. Saddam Hussein has a long history of brutality, a long track record of harboring weapons of mass destruction and supporting terrorists and terrorist organizations. He has terrorized his neighbors and his own citizens. He has made a mockery out of the United Nations for twelve years now, and because the United Nations will not act to protect its integrity, we will act for it."
"Make no mistake, Saddam Hussein is to blame for this war. This war is only necessary because Saddam Hussein refuses to disarm, refuses to leave power, and refuses to stop his brutal ways. I would hope that at this time of crisis, we will all work together to support our troops and our President as we move forward to remove Saddam Hussein from power."

Below is my email to Daschle.
Dear Sen. Daschle:
You, sir, are a disgrace to the United States, the good citizens of your state and the U.S. Senate. You represent all that is WRONG with this nation: whining, sniveling, little liberal rich boys, who, because they suffer from neurological narcissism, complain when grown ups actually do something about a problem instead of just complaining.
You should be ashamed of your remarks regarding President Bush and the war as they do nothing but add to the anti-U.S. sentiment that is harbored against us by freedom-hating nations, such as Iraq. Your hatred for President Bush has blinded you from the fact that you have spent more time in the past 2 1/12 years criticizing a sitting U.S. president than you have outlining the horrific abuses of a dictator such as Saddam Hussein.
You are a terrorist of the worst kind: a U.S. citizen that hates the U.S. in his comparison to his love for power. You, sir, are disgusting.
I hope the good people of your state remember your words and remove you from your buzzard's perch when the next election arrives.

Senator Daschle:
It is time for you to moderate your behavior. Are you so full of hatred for Republicans that you have lost your sense of duty to your Country. Your actions and words serve no one, not yourself or your Country, but can only be construed as those of a traitor. I am oftentimes appauled by the local politics between the two parties in majority of our great Nation. But, you sir, have crossed the bounds of decency. You are burden to the whole Democrat Party, an embarssment to the Nation. I know not what your purpose may be, nor can I concieve what good can come from it; you should retire and work behind the scenes to promote decent relations between all Americans as a way of redemption!

Here's my submission to his site:
I have no hope of you actually caring about my viewpoint, since you don't even care what your constituents think, but I find you despicable for your comments against Bush at a crucial time in our history.
It's nothing but opportunistic grandstanding, and I believe you should seek immediate therapy for your highly obvious Napoleanic complex.
I, for one, will laugh heartily when you are relegated to the great Congressional dustbin of history.
Perhaps you should consider thick soled shoes or some coffee can stilts as a confidence booster. Maybe a nice Calgon bath.
If, as I hope, your career in politics is flushed down the toilet by your comments, you could always solicite the WB or UPN for your own sitcom. How about "Living Short" as a working title?
You could play a disgruntled former politician who returns to his home state and has to get a real job amongst the people who threw him out of office.

Senator Dashole, The TraitorcRat Party has supported the following tyrants; Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Ho Chi Min, Pol Pot, Castro, Ortega, Brezchnev, and now Saddam. There appears to be a pattern developing??
Pray for GW and Our Troops

Bray

Thanks for the quote.
Although I'd already emailed Tom Thumb, I did again, copying and pasting his words from your post. Thanks for your help.
Can you imagine if one of these Amerca-hating Socialists were in the White House right now?
Thank God we have a president who has the clear-sightedness and courage to acknowledge what is happening in the world and act on it, rather than giving this nation away and calling it "dilomacy".
