You are so right!
President Bush wants the American people to hear him in prime time and to send the message around the world! This speech is for the world not for Freepers that follow the news.
He just cut off John King! YEAH!!!!! He is deadly serious -- wouldn't want to be on the receiving end when he gets like this!
I am not willing to take that chance again John! John just got handed his head!

We have, but most Americans do not watch cable news. If they have their TV on tonight they might be hearing their president say these things for the first time.

He convinces when it's the right timing. He gives facts when it's the right timing. Now is a time for facts.
We don't need a fire-and-brimstone preacher. He need quiet, solemn judgment to save as many lives as possible.
We already had a so-called "charismatic" President who screwed things up. Now I prefer a sober one.

What has been said so far that would be considered moving the ball forward on Iraq? You know, some of us can support the president and still be critical of some things he does or says.

"the risk that inaction will somehow make the world safer is a risk im not willing to take for the american people."
"The price of doing nothing outweighs the price of inaction." Just now stated by POTUS.

I haven't heard an explanation as to why we have to invade Iraq, when we DON'T have to invade N Korea -- even though it's N Korea that's explicitly, loudly threatening to build a nuclear weapon and to launch it at S Korea or Japan -- or us. When you catch somebody robbing your locked gun cabinet, whether he got in or not makes a huge difference in how you deal with him.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
"My job is to protect america"
"Saddam Hussein is a threat"
but apparently North Korea isn't. I don't get it -- if we can contain North Korea without getting american men and women killed, why can't we contain Iraq? Is it because the bible-thumpers demand a war against ancient Babylon? I don't see any other thing that distinguishes the Iraq situation from the N Korean situation - - except the oil, that is. Maybe it IS really about the oil!

Blair does not need approval of Parliament to make war. War making power is vested in the monarch. Blair is the Queen's first minister. In relation to war, he operates under what is known as "the royal perogative." Yes, I suppose his party could throw him out as Labor leader, but that is probably unlikely.

They just panned out and she was not sitting in front. I do think she's tucked in bed for the night.
