I will second everything you have just had. I have said since the first days on here that I would not want to play poker with George W. Bush. Maybe some others are seeing it as well!

President Bush wants the American people to hear him in prime time and to send the message around the world! This speech is for the world not for Freepers that follow the news. Agreed. This is not a "raw meat" for US consumption event. It's intended for the Euro's et. al.

LOL. I couldn't possibly tell everything unless I spent the whole night doing it.
Do the research on Mohammed Salameh and tell me what you find out.

We all knew, immediately on 9/11, just how lucky we are, and were in November 2000. I was happy when GWB "won" the election, and that joy turned -- pretty much the way you described it in your beautiful tribute to a good man and a great president -- we are SO fortunate, and we dodged a bullet.

For what it's worth, NK is developing nukes but saddam already has bio weapons, ties to bin laden and probably already has suitcase nukes.
Dubya cannot tell all because it's classified - that's probably hard to do but would explain why he seemed so reluctant to discuss details. Our government probably doesn't want saddam to know how much we know.

Christopher Robin Dodd actually said on LKL tonite that Bush should have a conference with ex-presidents to see what they recommend. I almost fell off my chair laughing.
Even in his current condition, President Reagan, God bless him, would make more sense on the Iraq issue than Bubba and Jimmah put together.

As far as evidence linking Iraq with terrorist activity, somehow I doubt that you've got insider info from NSA, CIA or the Pentagon. What you know and don't know is irrelevant, You do not have access to any "insider info" either.
Therefore:
I don't care that *you* don't see the differences in dealing with two different situations. You're just obtuse, the rest of us can see that.
You cannot see if there is or is not a difference between the two situations either.
You're just obtuse, the rest of us can see that.
And it is obvious to some that you're just displaying unjustified blind faith in the president.
Faith is a prerequisite for spirituality. It has no place in this situation.

J.R.

Go back and read the decision of the Federal judge in that case. His decision was basically that he couldn't possibly make a decision. The Republican Congressmen were filing suit claiming that Clinton acted without Congressional approval in Kosovo, but the judge said that Congress had issued so many lame, half-assed "support for the troops" and "support for the war effort" resolutions that he had no idea if these resolutions amounted to a legitimate declaration of war.

OMG......proof positive. Those poor people. Blix has a lot of rewriting to do tonight.

I am SO appreciating the quotes you are posting as I read through this thread! Thank you!

By "government" you must mean Clinton? We already know he's a jackass. George Tenet is still the director of the CIA under the Bush administration. Now if that ain't a scathing indictment of the Bush administration's credibility in any matter related to the CIA, then I don't know what is.

I am disucssing what he said. He said he is protecting us. I want to know how he is doing that (duct tape and plastic aside) while leaving our borders open?

As soon as the President started speaking I figured it was going to be a night for world consumption. Imagine those UN reps now in NYC for tomorrow's meeting were squiriming!
That made me laugh thinking about the weasels!
