C-SPAN ^ | Sunday, March 2, 2003 | Kristinn

Posted on 03/02/2003 5:36:42 AM PST by kristinn

Shiver along with the D.C. Chapter, FReepers from across the country, other patriotic Americans and Iraqi exiles as C-SPAN broadcasts the Patriots Rally For America IV today at 1:05 p.m.

Recorded yesterday at the cold, fog-shrouded, snow-covered grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally held to support our troops, President Bush and the American policy on Iraq features former Rep. Bob Dornan, Aziz Al-Taee, Blanquita Cullum, John Armor, James Parmelee, Kevin Martin, Adam Ramey and yours truly.

Also featured are singers Cullen Martin, Stephanie Souders and, from Nashville, Lowell Shyette.

The program, if shown in it's entirety, should run three hours and fifteen minutes.

Get some hot chocolate ready, pop some popcorn, put on your red, white and blue sweaters and get ready to root for the home team: the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.

EAGLES UP !!!

I like Bob Dornan but he has a speaking style that would make a simple story about going down to the corner ice cream shop for a milkshake into an apocalyptic tale involving assorted villains. It's either Dornan's speaking style or the fact that he is "incident-prone."

Well, the local press coverage has been good for our numbers frankly. Two pieces in the Post and a nice big spread with a good photo (monument in background) in the Washington Times.

I got through a week before the rally and asked the screener to pass the word. He didn't. Try, try again.

I wonder what he'll say (if anything) on Monday's show.

Unfortunately for all the hard work and heartfelt dedication expended by the tireless DC Chapter, this is an event that should never have happened.

Patriots go to work everyday and have children to send to school. The strikes in Venezuela proved that the work-engine (working people) of any country can never mobilize the way subversives and easily misled youth with no responsibilities or constructive agendas can.

If naitonal pro-life, conservative veteran, military family, college Republican, religious conservative and other groups aren't contacted and coordinated to guarantee a massive show of political strength, efforts like yesterday's do more harm to the cause than good. It displays for all to see, that a few hundred (at most) precious people turned out to support the President, while millions of ignorant hate-mongers around the world turned out to oppose him.

That belittles the horror and heartbreak of the Iraqi refugees and diminishes the entire message. It also gives the Left a huge opening to laugh their asses off. (The guy with the guitar was a big, cringe-inducing mistake.)

While I totally admire and respect the spirit behind the rally, it makes me extremely sad it was held.

Good to see Connie again, though.

I don't know who Glenn Beck is... is he a conservative talk show host?

Yes, and he's great!! He got 7500 at a rally in San Antonio yesterday! I haven't heard about Cleveland yet. I don't know where he broadcasts out of but I started getting his program soon after 911.

Wow, 7500?! That's fantastic! Glad to hear there are increasing numbers of conservative talk show hosts out there... getting the conservative word out over the airwaves!

Blanquita Cullum is on now... I had never heard of her before I saw her at CPAC in January. Now that I know of her, I've checked around to see that she broadcasts not only in the DC area, she's on some stations up here in the northeast as well. More power to them all!

As I mentioned upthread, I worked hard as heck to phone Rush during the Florida fiasco pro-Bush rallies. We e-mailed him over and over and over. No mention. I lost a lot of respect for him over that, he redefined himself as far as I am concerned.

I know the so called peace rallies solicit dozens and dozens of organized groups. That's where there success (at least in numbers) comes from. Think about the speeches, anything from reparations to pro-choicers talking. They don't have a single agenda to get people to show up.

Bob Dornan is a man who can say "been there, done that"

It is absolutely criminal what happened to him in his re-election bid. The people of this country are the worse off for it!

OMG! I am watching one of my favorite heroes BOB B1 BOMBER DORNAN.

You FReepers that represent our country for the past and present years are also my heroes!

God Bless You for all your commitment.

Putting together this rally and having it televised is a real morale boost for not only the troops but for all of us that love our freedom.

All Freepers across the country should find some time in their busy lives to support our country wether locally or nationally.

I visited the Canteen today another wonderful peice of work by a FReeper.

The fruit idea is fantastic would of never knew unless I went to the canteen.

Thank you FR

I had admitted upthread that I had forgotten that Sean Hannity did indeed give the Patriots Rally for America several plugs this past week during his radio show. Like you said... sometimes it DOES work! :-)

Thanks for that link... As far as I know, we don't get G. Gordon Liddy's show up here in CT. I have heard him when we've been in the DC area, though. He's pretty good, from what I've heard. There are so many "new" conservative talk show hosts out there now, that I can hardly keep up with all of them. That's a really GOOD thing!

Did you notice how Azziz went out of his way to say he's a REAL iraqi who REALLY speaks for them?

That's because the left -- which doesn't have Iraqis, and has this radical Islamic fundamentalist Muslim-American Council rep at their rallies -- slams him on their website as a fake.

The indignity. He's lost family members. And what the leftist leaders tell the Useful Idiots is never mind what Azziz says, he's a "paid actor."

Sigh. That's why he went out of his way to point out he really does represent -- and he really does -- the Iraqi community in exile here.

God Bless him. He's a wonderful and kind person off the stage too. He stayed and was ever-patient with press interviews. And those younger kids are just the nicest boys. He really is, as he points out, a loyal American too.

Think of it as Rushs' loss.

I truly beleive when you give it your all and things do not work out it is because something else according to the good of God is just around the corner.

Hang in there.
