STAND UP OR STAND ASIDE!---ACTIVISM POST 9/11
self | feb. 7, 2003 | flagbrigade

Posted on 02/07/2003 10:07:35 PM PST by flagbrigade

The time has come to stand up for America by doing what the Left does as second nature. It makes sure it is both SEEN and HEARD on a regular basis. The Right MUST respond with grassroot rallies with bigger turnouts than those of late. Take the time--get involved in local actvist rallies!

The pendulum is starting to sway more to the right since Powell's speech to the U.N. Now is the time to rally round the flag. The flag is a uniting element and never "oppressive or devisive" as some in academia (U.C. Berkeley) have portrayed it. Forcefully challenge anyone who makes such a statement. The flag stands for freedom for all, period.

ACTION PLAN: (1) Use FREEWAY OVERPASSES to get the message out. Small groups of people holding banners with POSITIVE messages (Support R Troops) and proudly and defiantly waving Old Glory. (2)Get SUPPORT GROUPS to help spread the unity message by participating in the rally. (3) Start tying YELLOW RIBBONS on overpass fencing ( also city trees)as a reminder never to forget.

DO NOW (S.F. Bay Area): Save the dates Feb.11th and Feb. 16th.

(1) Feb. 11th, Tues. from 3-6 p.m. Lafayette, CA. Back R Troops Rally on the El Curtola Bridge, (aka Old Glory Overpass), Lafayette, CA. Exit Hwy 24 at Pleasant Hill Rd to Old Tunnel Rd. Bring Passion!

Don't forget the San Francisco Rally on Sunday Feb. 16th at 1 p.m. on the steps of City Hall. Stand up for America and be there!

NEVER EVER FORGET

Check out the DC Chapter website (www.dcchapter.com) for Rules of Protesting that we have developed over the last four+ years and check out the Flag Guide to watch for these flags and symbols in the hands of the anti-war commies that you will be facing. If you talk to the media, show them our guide and point out any such items being used in the anti-war rally/demonstration.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS -- WE ARE AT WAR

REMEMBER 9/11 -- FIGHT TERRORISM

SADDAM HAS WMD -- IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE HE USES THEM

US DOES NOT DEPEND ON DECISIONS OF OTHERS

Contact local media and let them know that you are planning to hold a banner at the overpass and that you will be countering the anti-war protesters. Call in to local radio stations to get out the word. And don't forget to write an after-action report to share your experiences with the rest of us.

Good luck and FReep On!

A large contingent of the DC Chapter is planning to join the Tri-State Chapter on 2/15. So far as we can tell, the big cities where the IAC/ANSWER demonstrations are planned will be San Francisco, Chicago and NYC (with other smaller demonstrations in other areas of the country).

I kinda consider the Tri-state chapter to be the DC Chapter's sister chapter. The road trip is being discussed extensively.

Hi Pod, yes we in SF (and around the country!) know that the DC chapter has been most active and effective. We'd all like to see any coverage we can get be good coverage -- that's why I think it would be a good idea to discuss these things beforehand. For example, what are their 'themes' going to be? We can count on 'no blood for oil' and 'Bush is a warmonger' -- how can we counter those thoughts in short soundbite-size slogans? Geez, we even know what songs they will sing -- let's be ready with some of our own. And since two heads (or two hundred, or two thousand!) are better than one, I'd like to see a FR leader like you put up a Breaking News thread, or a Standing Headline button (like "Daily Dose") for people to use as a resource when they want to counter-protest.

We won't beat them in numbers, because we have real jobs (instead of going to school and/or working for a red-front organization) and lives and homes..... some of us are scared (I am, I will be there but I will be scared!). BUT if the media covers 'contrarians' and conflict, they will have to notice us. Let's make it count! That's my theory anyway! :-)

Why don't you contact Jim Robinson about your idea? I'm going to leave it up to you, because I've got enough on my plate right now. But he's probably the guy to talk to...

If somebody will build it, I will give you the web space. I own a server on a T-1 line and will gladly rope off a section for you. I would offer to build it myself but I have 2 sites that are woefully out of date and demanding my attention as it is.
