Thes Tag Lines Are Driving Me Crazy (VAnity)

Posted on 01/09/2003 5:56:00 AM PST by Puddleglum

The new "taglines" after people's usernames are really distracting to me. Is it the intense pressure to think up something too cute? Is it the odd little eye-pulling font that makes it less comfortable to read the article? I can't say for sure. It just doesn't seem to detract from the message board format, at least for me. Does anyone else think so? I love FR but find this new tagline thing a little annoying. Maybe Jim could give us the option to view or not view taglines as part of our user preferences.

I won't be able to race. I am taking mine off a bit on the slow side now. I threw my back out and had to stop the kung fu classes for awhile.

Good luck to you as well.

3 squares. Lots of water. Hardly any caffeine and hardly any red meat. Eating lots of chicken, greens and the like.

One of the biggest changes came from stopping the sugary cereals in the morning. I now eat Special K and it fills me up pretty well.

Oh, and I still allow myself a snack every so often, stops me from pigging out during the week and then giving up.

I got a ton of exercise cleaning up after an ice storm plus I was doing kung fu. Now I try to walk at night time and avoid eating late.

I would have clicked on this thread before now if I had known you guys were having such a hoot in here.

I have not had time to read all the posts - just scrolled through reading all the tag lines...
The wit, creativity, and wisdom of the people here never ceases to amaze me.

Anyway - Thanks for starting this thread Puddleglum.
Here are a couple of taglines you could use if you still think they are a bad idea.
(no tag line is a good tag line)
(tag lines should be legal...but rare) ;)

As an aside - Can you imagine what the average Dem would do if such a great little tool was placed at their disposal?
The most creative fare we would get would be stuff like:

(visualize world peace)
(make love - not war)
(no more tax breaks for the rich)
(free mumia)
