USO Canteen FReeper Style ~ Help Decorate the Canteen Christmas Tree ~ December 14 2002
68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub and FRiends of the Canteen

Posted on 12/14/2002 5:28:07 AM PST by 68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub

It's that time of year to start decorating the Canteen Christmas Tree.
We know from traffic stats from the Post Office that military lurkers come here daily.
They come to "escape" from the often dreary world they live in while ensuring our Freedom.
Many of our service men and women are experiencing their 1st Holiday Season away from home.

Will you take a few moments from your day today to post an ornament for the tree?
This may be cyberspace but know that military lurkers today will know they are not forgotten.

Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:

The night before Christmas, after the family went to
sleep, they were startled awake by a loud explosion.
They went outside and saw the outhouse in pieces with
Santa in the rubble. He was shaking his fist at a
sleigh encircling him in the air while he shouted,
"You idiots! I said the Schmidt house!! the
**SCHMIDT** house !!"

WE WISH

How often we wish for another chance
To make a fresh beginning.
A change to blot out our mistakes
And change failure into winning.

It does not take a special time
To make a brand-new start,
It only takes the deep desire
To try with all our heart.

To live a little better,
To always be forgiving.
To add a little sunshine,
In a world for which we're living.

Never give up in despair
Nor think you are through,
For there's always a tomorrow,

"A chance to start a new."
