All,

KLT's son Jesse was operated on yesterday. I have not heard anything since before the operation. This is bad.

I have tried contacting KLT to no avail. I sincerely pray that she just forgot to call and everything is ok.

Am really worried now.... original thread

I am very happy the surgery went well. The power of prayer is immense and those prayers will continue until he has fully recovered.

God Bless,

Thank you so much, Budge. It turned out we overreacted a bit, Jesse came through the surgery well on Tuesday.

He is running a low-grade fever at the moment though, which has KLT concerned--so prayers made now will NOT go to waste :-)

Thanks, guys...

I don't know the people involved, but I just came across this thread, and I wanted you to know that I am praying for them.

KLT made a reply on the original thread late last night, so I will just take the liberty of posting it over here:

*********

Jesse had 3 surgeons, 2 anesthesiologists, many nurses, and 7 hours of surgery....I admit, I did panic...when they took him in at 7:30AM, and I didn't hear a thing till 2:30PM my faith and all my friends from FR brought me through this....

One day postop...Jesse got up and walked today...he's running a low grade fever (which somewhat concerns me), but they say that should disappear within the next day or so...

They removed his entire large intestine (8 3/4') lapriscopically by TV without opening him up...that's what took 5 long hours....the creation of the j-pouch...was another 2 hours...but it takes time for the body to start working and use this new plumbing...so he still isn't allowed to eat food...maybe light liquids tomorrow (thursday) and the food will be gradually added over weeks...

?I want everyone on FR to know...without you...I couldn't have made it...I came home just for a couple of hours of sleep, then I'm going back to Mt. Sinai Hospital to sit with my cranky boy....I wanted to write my FR family and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and support...It has meant more to me, then I can ever say...

I love you all...you've been my inspiration and my strength...

God Bless And FreeGards From The Most Socialist Republic Of Noo Yawk,

Karen AKA KLT

I'm going back to Mt. Sinai Hospital to sit with my cranky boy

When a loved one has had serious illness, injury, or surgery there is no sound in the world as sweet as their crankiness afterwards ........ :-)

Praising God that the surgery went so well and continuing to pray for rapid healing and recovery. Prayers for rest for you, Karen. It's important that you take care of yourself so that you can take care of your son. <><

No one ever "over-reacts" when a loved one is about to undergo serious and lengthy surgery. It's part of the rhythm of life and most of us have experienced the feeling. Heck, I was a basket case when my son was little and had his tonsils removed!

Now's the time for relief, for thanks, for happiness that all went well. And also some post-operative prayers that recovery is complete and quick. God bless the young man and his family.

It turned out we overreacted a bit,

As far as I'm concerned there is no such thing as 'overreacting' with prayers! :)

Still sending prayers..and tell Mom not to worry... a low grade fever is actually quite common. (The bodies response to inflammation). They will keep their eye on it..and he'll do fine.

Sending continual prayers for fast healing, and for comfort and great success for the surgery!!

God Bless Jesse and family. Vets
