Gov. George Pataki has been denying rumors that he is being considered as President George W. Bush's running mate in 2004.

And Pataki might have another reason to stick around in New York State.

Friday morning's Press-Republican reports that Pataki is looking at buying land in Essex, N.Y., near Lake Champlain.


Pataki's primary home is in Garrison, N.Y., but he also uses the governor's mansion in Albany.
