We have a bottle of the aged Jack Daniels.

Now I will make you really sick. Neither of us drink bourbon anymore. My wife uses it for a couple of her recipes, and I use it to marinate tri tips before putting them on a Weber.

Considering the AL robbery/killings, I wonder if the "possible" first sniper victim (mid-Sept) was intended to be a robbery but something spooked them.

Interesting rant from the DU crowd you posted:

The media seems intent on fueling public outrage moreso than it should be by making this a militant Islam thing, rather than what it truly is: An ex-military kook who served during Desert Storm, who is into guns

Ahh, yes.....SPIN! Since Clinton has been down in Harlem, I forgotten how the liberals love to SPIN.

Now suppose this was some white guy, who recently converted from, oh, I dunno, Christianity

But, he wasn't now, was he?

That he was not his real son was reported VERY EARLY and misintrepreted in a 20 questions scenario..

The early report said "adopted him" as his son or some phrase like that. I think it came from his ex-wife or a friend of hers.....Something like that.

Well, don't know much about how they behaved in their community, but a Seattle paper interviewed a "Chris Waters" who lived across the street from the shooters, where the tree stump was cut down. Waters told the paper that he used to call 911 every day to report gun shots being fired. He said they would only shoot one time. Just one shot at a time. He said that this went on during the entire month of January 2002, but nothing was ever done. He said is was the sound of a highpowered gun. After January, these guys moved away, and the shooting ended.

And, don't flame me here. But I will tell you, in my LE days, I interviewed, many occasions, young black males. Black gang members, or gang wannabes. Black muslims. Their thought processes are freightening. They believe that any type of violence against other gang members, (blacks) is OK. They believe that any violence against anyone is OK, especially whites. Their mentality is that whitey owes me because of putting me and my people down for years. That message is being played up by the likes of Farakan. They really believe it. Again, this is not Black people in general. And yes, there are whites that are just as bad. But look at the world around us. We hear black leaders like Jesse Jackson (by the way, he claims to be a reverend, but he doesn't have a church he pastors, what's up with that)scream about the treatment of blacks here, but over in black nations, (which are largly muslim) they are killing each other left and right.

Caveat
Again, I am not associating these radical black muslims with which I have had been associated during my career, with the general black population.

This morning's Seattle Times has a good bit of background on Mohammed. I'm curious about how they supported themselves. Apparently they did live in a homeless shelter for a while. Just heard that one of his ex-wives just held a press conference at her home in Baton Rouge. Mohammed was dishonorably discharged from the army. Someone on another thread or an earlier post said that is how they were able to issue the federal weapons warrant before they caught them, said dishonorably discharged persons were not allowed to have weapons..... never heard that before. 2 from state arrested in D.C. sniper case [detailed background on Muhammed, Malvo]

Since we have real Coke and real Vanilla Syrup, I will try mixing some on my own.

One of the great joys about Waffle House is that they make real vanilla coke or real cherry coke (regular coke w/ them adding the flavor) on request.

QuikTrip has the same set up at their fountains (you can add vanilla or cherry to whatever soda you wish)!

***FoxNews also reporting a tripod in the car (for use with the "gun", apparently). ***

Silly newsies, they don't know the difference between a tripod and a bipod. I bet it's a bipod since only really big guns and cameras get tripods.

All I can say is I'm glad I ordered up my new AR-15 yesterday. Rock River Arms A2, come to daddy. :)

From what I heard on the radio while ago the police said they almost caught whoever shot those women at the liquor store. He said they almost caught them on foot. The bad guys probably decided not to mess with the folks in Alabama because they would probably be chased down and shot by a citizen.

Police Refuse to Cooperate With Feds

By CHRISTY KARRAS, Associated Press Writer

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Portland police have refused a U.S. Justice Department (news - web sites) request for help in interviewing Middle Eastern immigrants as part of its sweeping terrorism investigation, saying it would violate state law.

Attorney General John Ashcroft (news - web sites) announced earlier this month that the Justice Department had distributed a list of 5,000 men it wanted to interview about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, an effort that has been widely criticized by civil rights groups.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Portland asked city police for cooperation last week, acting police chief Andrew Kirkland said Tuesday. The request was denied because Oregon law says no one can be questioned by police unless they are suspected of being involved in a crime, he said.

``The law says, generally, we can interview people that we may suspect have committed a crime,'' Kirkland said. ``But the law does not allow us to go out and arbitrarily interview people whose only offense is immigration or citizenship, and it doesn't give them authority to arbitrarily gather information on them.''

Portland is believed to be the first city to refuse to cooperate with the Justice Department in its anti-terrorism effort.

Portland FBI (news - web sites) spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele said Tuesday she couldn't comment on the investigation. Justice Department officials were unavailable for comment Tuesday night.

Charles Gorder, an assistant United States attorney in Portland, told The New York Times that the interviews would be completed, with or without help from local police.

Arabs and Muslims have expressed outrage at the U.S. Justice Department's plan to interview the 5,000 men, who are not suspected of any crimes. The list is comprised of men ages 18 to 33 who entered the United States since Jan. 1, 2000, from countries that have been linked to the hijackers in the Sept. 11 attacks or were waystations for the terrorist organization, al-Qaida.

Civil rights activists say the action constitutes racial profiling. The Justice Department acknowledges the men are likely to be Arab and Muslim, but says the list wasn't based on ethnic origin.

Racial profiling is also against state law, Kirkland said. v Kirkland, who is black, said profiling is an issue that hits home for him, but that's not why the Justice Department's request was rejected. v ``I am sympathetic to that issue from a perspective of growing up African American. That doesn't factor into any decision to do this or not. We made that decision regarding racial profiling long before Sept. 11. That decision was made for us when the Legislature wrote the law.''
