Thank you for this post. I have greater faith in the Richmond/VA police than I do in the rest put together.

With all the vaunted capability of the DC regional gang what has been produced? And many in media appear to want one big dictator on federal level to trample the Constitution and keep them safe, even pushing for the NYPD to head the investigation! This is just what the socialist crowd is wishing and what the commies past said we would cry for when we got enough fear in our belly.

I do not think any should be called Keystone anything but must admit that everyone I know is uneasy about anything being handled by the inarticulate Moose. Since he is the only visual representative of the group it is hard to get past the dis-ease. Then, again,the perception may be due solely to the fact of that man's somewhat incoherent communication skills.

A poster on another thread who knows him from his past jurisdictions was far more critical than most here....about many things including his character and his power plays in the other job. While that may raise caution flags it should not deny him an opportunity to perform on levels where he is capable.

Since I am an inside the beltway VA target I am flabbergasted and ashamed that the Northern VA LEO's apparently are rag-doll puppets for the MD crowd without any evident original idea or concept. Having seen nothing more out of them than a show of military style brute force against some INNOCENTS caught in roadblocks here I am enormously disillusioned. With all that I would prefer what we have to the mega-bucks feds who may railroad whomever they choose (ala Randy Weaver or the Texas Toast crowd) just to show their capability to bag a perp and justify increasing their agency power over the nation.

It seems to me that if the voice is digitally altered, it would be possible to digitally undo the effect.

I don't think you could unless you knew the algorithm used and posessed a digital copy of the voice before it was translated to analog (which occurs somewhere before the ear piece on the phone).

How do you ID somebody via voice if you haven't got a previous copy?

Two things I noticed about the van there was a mexican flag signaling to me that the man busted was a mexican, but what made me nearly puke was that there was a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker which scared me to death. I'm sure the libs would love to have the sniper be a republican.

I'm completely against illegals and believe they should be deported but I do feel bad for these two individuals, they just had the worst day of their lives. But, they should have came here legally.

Reply to post #1: I would like to suggest taking away these cops' guns, and issuing them little short billy clubs. Then the next time they converge on some suspects, they can do it in true Keystone Cop style, by swarming all over them waving their little clubs.

The Feds have more resources and more sophisticated resources at their disposal. These police had plenty of notice about this phone call... you can't tell me w/ proper planning and appropriate hardware and technology this "unclear" audio problem wouldn't be one.

I expect that both federal and state investigators follow the same procedures - get a court order for a wiretap/pen register/trap-and-trace on the phone number, deliver the order to the telephone company for installation at the central office and intercept the phone call using telco equipment.

Since it is the responsibility of the telephone company to intercept the call for federal and state law enforcement agencies, using their equipment, please explain how "unclear audio" would have been avoided if the investigation was under federal jurisdiction.

Wake up call leilani and for all who are defending the pc incompetence of Moose incorporated and the other incompetant PC driven police forces in the DC area.

We are failing the most important test of this century. This test for our survival as free Americans has been failed miserably by the DC police. Each day these thugs are free and can kill again sends a terrible message to the leaders of al Qaeda around the world. That message is a simple one. Our police departments are incapable of ferreting out a sniper team due to political correctness which is rampant in the DC police departments.

The DC metro police chiefs have been failing this important test since day one of the of the first sniper killings due to Political Correctness which controls all of the metro police agencies in DC

If we can't stop one sniper team in the DC area, the al fuqra thugs and al Qaeda thugs now know the easy way to destroy America.

They will just put a couple of sniper teams in each major metro area. Then all the years of PC excuses and negative behaviorial modification in each police force will run rampant versus good police work. This will allow the snipers to kill who and whenever they want to kill with no real danger to themselves. Then, the unstopped snipers will destroy the economies of the cities that they are terrorizing as well as terrorizing those who live in those metro areas.

When this happens, those of you who feel good about Political Correctness will continue to defend the PCing police forces until one of your family members or a friend gets killed. Then, maybe you will wake up. Some never will wake up and will continue to defend Political Correctness instead of good police work.

Political Correctness and Diversity games must not be defended when law enforcement at the local and/or national levels fails. They have failed basic security 101 for the millions of innocent Americans living around the DC area since day one of the first sniping killings.

Political Correctness and the worship of Diversity is the opiate of the sheeple. Political Correctness and the worship of Diversity can kill all of us if allowed to control our police forces.

I have no idea who is killing Americans in DC.

I do know that Political Correctness in these police departments has destroyed any effectiveness to stop these snipers. The good cops and good beat cops have been forced out or those who are left are afraid to be good cops.

We saw the same thing happen in the Former Bureau of Investigation under Jake Reno. During those 8 years, our CIA was deballed, pced and managers got promoted for having Diversity Quilting parties instead of having boots on ground in enemy states.

The al Fuqra and al Qaeda thugs have to be grinning each day as the snipers in DC continue to do their thing and walk away with no problems from dead and wounded Americans laying in the street after they have been slaughtered or wounded by these snipers.

Keep defending political correctness and diversity games instead of demanding that these killers are stopped. The al Fuqra and al Qaeda thugs will love you for making their job easy.

Since we don't have the sniper yet, WHY would we [IMMEDIATELY] deport illegal aliens?? I am confused here, if it was a white van and at the right phone, and there are illegal aliens in the van....DO YOU REMEMBER ONE OF FIRST MURDERS WITNESS said "Mexican descent in a white van">>HELLO! • Why in God's name do we (for the 1st time ever) RUSH TO DEPORT THESE TWO fools? Most deportations take weeks!
• It seems like the Maryland State Police has been ordered by their governor to ONLY look for lily-white right-wing gut-nuts who listen to talk radio. They disregard and immediately release everyone else so this is never pinned on foreign terrorists! (Remember the John Doe theory in OK.City?)
• There were at least 6 witnesses so far who said they saw hispanic or 'olive-skinned' or middle eastern looking men. Plus one that said white 'Chrysler CARAVAN'!!!
• Remember, the Home Depot witness that was NOT discredited said "I Got a very GOOD Look at them."??
• I want ALL the witnesses to see these guys or at least their picture. And why can't the rest of us see their picture? After all they're being deported and never coming back, right?
