Beltway Sniper attempted contact last night !

Very short press conference where he simply states that the Beltway Sniper attempted contact and Chief Moose requested that he call them back.

I agree with you - that the press conferences should be limited, no questions take and only information that would be helpful to the police should be released. If the media didn't cover this thing all the time, the shooter would not get his 15 minutes of fame.

Chief Moose is sadistically torturing the press. First, he makes them wait out in the cold one whole hour for a press conf. that was supposed to start at 6pm. Then he appears at 7pm with his cryptic little message about playing phone tag. The reporters dutifully repeat his unintelligible message over and over again. The chief is having himslef a sly laugh at the media's expense.

Meanwhile, the sniper is scoping out the venue of tomorrow's kill.

I agree, it is left to be seen just how clever or stupid chief Moose is......I think his biggest mistake has been falling prey to the media's attempt to badger more out of him than he wanted to say.

I have thought all along that he should just come out and make whatever statement he wanted to make, turn around and go back to the station. He owes the public, not the media. And he owes the public a solution to these crimes, not second by second information along the way.

I think the Moose haters are really people who dislike blacks in power...quite simply racists who claim the victim of their racism is STUPID or DUMB and DESERVES the distain...similar tactic the Demoncrats use on Republicans...I guess some people like to share the hatred...I think Moose is in a tough position and admire him for moving forward in an extremly tough investigation that is CONSTANTLY being secong guessed and questioned...MY PRAYERS are with Moose and his department of men and women.

They have nothing. I was hoping the announcement about the military spy plane was just a ruse to cover the much more sophisticated satellite capabilities we have over DC, and that we would have face recognition by this time.
