"Wouldn't it make much more sense for the shooter to head South from the beginning, away from the concentrations of LEOs? Go South, go to ground. Right? "
Bump.

I'm in Floriduh now.......I miss Virginia. Especially now that Duck season is in full swing. Well, come on home. We need you here. Just remember when you get here to walk between cars (parked of course), park on the high ground and pray, pray, pray.

I *CAN NOT* believe my eyes... MSNBC was covering the police at checkpoints. LE opening up trunks and looking in every vehicle. Am I still in America?

Oh good, it looks like the press conference will be at exactly the same time as McLame's big appearance on Saturday Night LIVE!

BREAKING: News reporter on the scene - confirms it is a Ponderosa Restuarant.
To: Howlin
My friend figured out how much of an area you would have to cover to stop this guy figuring he is leaving in a car/van at 70 miles and hour and also figuring he is going in any of these directions - N,S,E or W. The LE would have to stop traffic with roadblocks in about a 154 mile radius in order to catch this guy and that would be as soon as this guy leaves. That's why they will never catch him on the highway. They need witnesses who saw him up close or someone who saw his license plate or maybe someone who thinks they know who this person/persons is.

Sorry, but that bridge in Maryland is more than an hour away from Ashland. A little common sense discretion by the media is hardly an unreasonable request. And I just heard that idiot CNN chick ask some LEO to outline exactly where are the limits of the containment area(roadblock areas).

....Because Homeland Security is going to be, in effect, a purging of the CIA and FBI.... The Homeland Security bill reorganizes stuff like INS, airport screeners, and the Coast Guard. It does not affect either the CIA or the FBI.

Police: Shot came from wood line (that's woods behind restaurant). That's consistent with sniper/shooter MO.

Witnesses say the reported hearing shots from the woodline behind the Ponderosa. Well sh!t! Get over there and run ballistic reports!

I heard one at Williamsburg who was incredible--both an excellent actor and a knowledgeable historian. This guy actually took questions from the audience (as if the audience were back in the period). Awesome.
