Thanks to little Tommy Daschle, there is no "Homeland Security Team", the Senate is more concerned with government worker union rules than it is the security and safety of the American people. What Tom Ridge, and I'm not a fan of his either, is right now is an advisor to the President. He has no "team", other than his immmediate staff.

I really don't see the impact of this (mass fear, significant change of lifestyles, economic impact) as being small. Well thought out, if anything.

He's had 5 days to case the area since his last shooting (if it is the same shooter), he's probably got a pile of escape routes mapped out. There's a lot of back roads in Ashland.

And so it is wise to keep an eye on white vans/trucks and report suspicious activities to the authorities.
