CNN Headline News is reporting that a woman has been shot near a Home Depot in Falls Church, VA, and that authorities are investigating whether this is another sniper attack.

It does if you understand the terrain and road system and sight barriers which exist in that area. From the Home Depot one might see the van leave but it might have gone several different ways because it would have been out of sight within a few seconds.

Way out on a limb here, but what about star maps? Perhaps the dots coincide with stars in a constellation? Or the first targets being stars farther away and following closer with the numbers order or vice versa? Eh, that'd be well nigh impossible to figure what with the huge variety of star maps available. Dunno.

He may not have a lot of choice. Given the amount of traffic in that area, once you are stuck, you ain't got a lot of choice in the matter. And, if someone is driving along on a side street and sees a "cream Astro van with a broken taillight", he's more likely to call the cops with a report.

TV 5 reporter in Rockville is saying the Task Force has a number of suspects under surveillance and the suspects are dropped off the list if a shooting happens while the suspect is being followed.

That only works if there isn't more than one shooter.

that's one thing that pi$$es me off - the sicko(s) doing this probably think they are very clever for not getting caught, and are playing a game in their head, but the reality is that just abut anyone could go around killing people one-by-one for a long time without getting caught if they are careful and only kill one person ever so often, like is happening here. The guy may be a decent shot, but he ain't clever, and he isn't great. He's just sick enough to do it, and, even as sick and stupid as our culture has become, most people in our society still are not sick enough to do this, and plain old have better (understatement, I know) things to do. It really bothers me that whover is doing this probably thinks he/she/they are doing something skillful and difficult.

I'm going to go pray - it's time for this bastard to be stopped.

Any pursuit would have to be on foot. When they shut down these highways pursuit becomes both impossible and unnecessary.
