CNN Headline News is reporting that a woman has been shot near a Home Depot in Falls Church, VA, and that authorities are investigating whether this is another sniper attack.

My fear is that when they DO catch this prick, the rest of the cell activates 5 more killers to continue working nationwide when news about the capture hits the airwaves.

From now on, I think the word "cell" should be replaced with the word "mosque."

For example: I think we can expect more of these terrorist attacks nationwide when new terrorist sleeper mosques become active.

The absolute fastest is Wilson Blvd to Sycamore Street to I-66, only a couple of lights. There are LOTS of side streets off Rt 7 and Rt 50. It would be very easy for the sniper to get away.

In a related story at yahoo news, from Matthew Barakat of the AP, I noticed this excerpt:

Authorities in Baltimore, meanwhile, seized a white van and found an assault rifle, sniper manual and ammunition similar to the .223 bullets used in attacks that have killed eight people and wounded two others, WBAL-TV reported. MSNBC reported that a tarot card was found in the van and a sign on the dashboard read "Gihad in America." A tarot card was also found at one of the shootings. The van's owner was being questioned by police Monday night. "At this time, the task force believes this is not related to our sniper incidents," said Louise Marthens, a Montgomery County police spokeswoman.

Not related? So, I guess there are a lot of white vans roaming the Baltimore/DC area with sniper manuals, .223 ammo, Tarot cards and Jihad posters.

Not something the Chamber of Commerce would like us to know, I imagine.

Hypothesis: Shooter has multiple accomplices. One drives a decoy vehicle with no connection to the shooting. A second car serves as a "dump" zone within a block or so of the shooting, where the weapon is dumped. The shooter's initial goal is to get to the "dump car" (a motorcyle would be very effecive for this). The gun unloaded, the shooter then exits the scene via foot or via a third vehicle. He might even have a disguise for his person that would appear to give him reason for being present in the area--EMS, etc.

Too much risk. First, wearing a false uniform could risk spotting by someone, and then it's over. Too many accomplices make things difficult. I think he's taking a shot from a long way away and then immediately driving out of there in a vehicle that's almost certainly not white and probably not a Chevy Astro.

The military versions of the projectile are designed to tumble or fragment on impact, getting around the geneva convention & allowing a weapon with less recoil & flatter shooting to aid "less skilled" or smaller recruits. You can also carry more ammo, but for a long shot a 6.5 mm or .30 cal is better.

The first to design tumbling projectiles, (if I remember correctly) were the brits for the .303. FMJ with hollow nose & a steel core, upon impact the core moves forward in the cavity & causes it to tumble. The Russkies copied this idea for the 5.45x39 which is very accurate & lethal with very little recoil compared to the 7.62x39.

Don't make sense if they have witnesses to a shooting and a vehicle description, they next question the cops ask is, "which way did it go?" And the chief stated multiple time, they did not have a direction of travel of the shooter....Don't add up.....

Channel 9 out here is interviewing witnesses. Most appear to be MEs! One said the van was in the garage. Somebody got spooked?

Fairfax County has an ENORMOUS Persian population, probably the largest in the country, most fled Iran in 1979 when the Shah fell.
