Early in a thread about a week ago on another sniper shooting, somebody mentioned that the shooting occurred in Falls Church, VA. He was immediately corrected and was told that Falls Church was completely out of the area of previous sniper shootings. I just find this a little strange. No accounting for ignorance, or for people not being able to use a Mapquest map - or look at maps that all of the local newspapers have on their web sites.

I am reporting what the local news station is broadcasting. I rather doubt I posted it for your use at this moment.

"Police are saying that several witnesses saw the shooter"
I believe the words were that several witnesses saw the shooting. That is a big difference.

Olive skinned man reported in van ...this dragnet has me nervous... I hope that their "terrorist fun" doesn't end with any kind of kaboom.

Send me your theory (FReepmail), I'm an Air Force cop here and have quite a few civilian cop friends. They'll listen to me, if even just to hear me out. Give me as much detail as you can, hell, draw it out if possible. Worth a shot, right?

What's wrong with Maichael's? I used to shop there a lot, wehen I lived in GA. I'm a dude.Michaels smells weird and all of those artificial flowers and fake knick knacks and loads of crap you wouldn't believe people would spend good money on, I don't know, It just give me the willies.

Plus the shooting will most likely be on Wednesday morning if the pattern holds. I'd hate to think a politician or the president would be the next target. I'm guessing President Bush's security is even tighter (if that is even possible agter 9/11.)

Everyone is operating in full combat mode, while at the same time being told to carry on as normal. We case parking lots for suspicious vehicles before entering stores. I anticipate possible rifle shot angles at gas stations.
This situation is completely unnerving. Your brother-in-law is not alone.

so, why haven't any freepers traced that tag for us?

Olive skin or not, people are scared to pump gas. Reckon that defines terrorism in my book. Ditto that. If this happened near me I wouldn't leave my house.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a change of weapon.
This almost seems too soon after the news of the possiblility of the Marine being involved.
Think there is more going on than we know and it involves the size of this little group.

The LEO's appear to be in chaos. Part of this sniper creep's plan is to go to many different counties to do his dirty work, thereby insuring that many jurisdictions will be involved, with the ensuing red tape and confusion.
Because he knows how to tie up the law enforcement authorities so well, I'd bet my bottom dollar he is an ex-cop.
To: Steve0113
I'm sure they factored in the potential road blocks in their escape route. By the time LEOs respond, they've already had several minutes to be on their way.
