CNN Headline News is reporting that a woman has been shot near a Home Depot in Falls Church, VA, and that authorities are investigating whether this is another sniper attack.

Not only is there a covered garage, but the whole huge parking lot outside that garage is down in a large hollow, giving long range sniper access from a number of surrounding heights, many on the other side of either route 7 or route 50 with many obstructions and buildings between in addition the highways that would give a shooter protection by preventing access to him until he could get away as well as excellent cover.

Funny thing, CNN is showing 495, 395 traffic at Springfield, VA. That is light years away from Seven Corners. It is also slow at night due to ongoing major construction which will take years to complete.

Also hear that bridges to DC and over the Potomac are closed to traffic. Funny that 395 connecting to 95 going SOUTH is stopped but going NORTH into DC is open and very sparse.

Also hearing that they are looking for a 91 Chrysler vehicle.

CNN just reported a police pursuit on Rte 50 east of a 1990 Dodge Van....let's pray they get them ASAP.

Yes this is; I just heard Fuhrman (sp?) say he isn't sure this is the sniper because how high a rate of speed by which he left, not using the same MO.

The NATO 69gr. bullet with steel core shot out of short barreled rifles, such as the M4, will over penetrate. This sniper is not using that round from the crime scenes I've seen on TV. Lots of hemorrhaging instantaniously. That does not come from a heavy FMJ, but an expanding bullet. IMHO.

I'd hate to see everybody get all worked up and the "perp" get caught, only to find out that the particular perp that was caught was only a copycat.

When I went out today I spotted at least 50 white trucks, vans, panel trucks ( whole parking lot of those)..builders trucks..plumbers..landscapers..astros..vans..if you go out just see how many you can count in the course of just driving 5 miles.

Granted. I also think it has to do with the composition of the bullet. In our military rifles we use the green tip round, made to pierce body armor. Problem is most Islamic terrorists don't have body armor, so the round over-penetrates. I doubt the sniper is using a green tip.

Al Quaeda theory on sniper:

A) Seems to me to get into shooting position and out so quickly and so many times, without being seen or caught, you need a driver, hence two people involved versus one "white-male loner"

B)Deaths seem to be at either Gas Stations (i.e. "america, your lust for our oil is evil")

or at Michael's-(America--the strongest angel of your Christian God is not able to protect you)

Maybe my theory is nuts, but nothing else seems to make sense. The AQ angle still is out there I think.
