A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day - Weekend 09-28,29-02

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute
and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new
word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

To Our FReeper FRiends: We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our spotlight on various FReepers. We thought we'd kick back on the weekends and simply review those who've been featured during the week. If you missed seeing them and want to say hello to them now, feel free to click on the link to that particular thread. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today and tomorrow, please feel free to do that also. One of us will always be around to see the welcome mat is still out, and maybe even put fresh flowers on the table. :)

WHAT'D YOU SAY, MAMA_BEAR?? MEEKIE POSTED AN X-RATED PICTURE??

LOL!! OUR Meekie?! I don't know. No matter what I do, I can't see it. Do I need a decoder ring, or maybe special net nanny glasses? :-(

No problem.

The photo was on the website and it was HUGE. I copied and re-sized it. Is this the one you were trying to post?

You know, looking at this, I am not all that sure I am going to do this. LOL!

I'm pretty new to FreeRepublic ...

Welcome, tmprincesa.

I was just looking at the Support the Troops stories.
This looks like a place that would like to know about the rallys.

Yep, you're new here. Just Amy keeps us informed of 'all' the rallys.

She's the *bumper* Queen. : )

Someone may have already answered this for you, and if so, just ignore this. You can use the new system without using paypal or auto withdrawl. Just put in whatever you like. It is a neat system!

OMG! That must be the 600' line they spoke of - we were only up around 300' and that was plenty high for me.

Maybe you SHOULD spend the morning in SenorFrogs.

What a treat the drive will be on the Parkway, Beep!
I lived in Winston-Salem and Greensboro for a total of 19 years, and loved to go up there three seasons of the year.

My prayers are joined with all the others being given for you, before, during and after the surgery.

God be with you and Bob, Sharon.
We'll be with you. too, in spirit.

Hi LIR, thanks for the info on the new system. The FReepMail that I received from Rottibiz last night explaining how the system works was very confusing. I guess I need to look into it a little more.

I keep missing you on the threads. But, I saw the "cookie conversation" on the Missouri rally thread. Don't even try to figure out how I eat/hide all the cookies when you always get there first. Sneakybear has her ways. LOL!

Okay, I give up. I will make cookies for the next rally. Homemade chocolate chip, how about that? Oops! I forgot, you aren't going to be there Amy. :-(
Well, I just might do it again the following week. :-)

That's what I am thinking! But, you know, does it really matter if you fall into the ocean from 300 feet, or 600 feet? Could a person survive a 300 foot fall into the ocean?

LOL! I am obsessing over this and we aren't even going until February!

You know, looking at this, I am not all that sure I am going to do this.

Parasailing is a rush!! You can do it, the first time is a little be scary (but very enjoyable) and after you get down you will wonder why you were reluctant. It is fun!!

I saw the picture and it reminded me of my on my pictures when I did it. I took a video camera up and got the same shot - feet, boat and rope. ( My feet are prettier than the ones in the picture though - yeh right) I had just had knee surgery a few weeks earlier and told the guys at the landing station to be sure and catch me on landing - I hit harder just stepping of a staircase step than what I hit landing- My rope was 530 ft (they said) and the height attained during the sailing was about 400. A really great view.

Do it, you will have a story to tell, Mr. JK can brag on you.

We'll either get MB pumped up enough (or drunk enough) to get this thing done.

The one thing you can't tell her is that our operator dang near whacked Mrs. lodwick into a high-rise while positioning for landing. I thought I was going to be a widower before we even got started on life. ;-)

Just got back on the thread. Been busy all day getting ready for my granddaughter's visit tomorrow. Mrs. ladtx can be a slave-driver, but I got some time off for good behavior to get back on FR. I appreciate your comments and I know their families would appreciate them also. God bless you all.
