President Bush met with President Alvaro Uribe of Colombia today, and discussed the war on terrorism, as well as Columbia's continued efforts in fighting the illegal drug trade. Bush also met with the Boys and Girls Clubs National Youth of the Year finalists in the White House. This evening, the President attended the National Republican Senatorial Committee dinner at the National Building Museum. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura Bush was in Mexico City attending the 11th Conference of Spouses of Heads of State and Government. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

My husband is watching Hardball and Dick Armey is on there. They are at some college having a town hall type thing. Anyway I just heard Armey refer to algore as "the former vice president and future nothing" The entire audience applauded and laughed while ole Crissy was trying to talk over them so they would shut up. It was hilarious.

Hey, Tom, where's the budget???? It's a few months overdue. Can you imagine a profit-producing business trying to operate that way? ha!
New topic - I have "The Civil War" on behind me and just heard the attitude preceding Lincoln's second election: "The Democrats wanted to end the war, whether it was won or not" (or words very close).
Not much has changed, eh?

The only prob with that recast is that in the actual story, the characters are heading for the same goal, in unity!

I loved that ya chose Lott's words for the quote of the day. He let that one out with a certain amount of 'gravitas' and righteous, if controlled, anger. But still-I wanna place a cattle prod on that man's backside and nudge it firmly a few times (after messing up his replusive hair sprayed hair-doo(doo) in order to get a little manly passion spewing from his mouth.
Little 'D', our replusive senate majority leader, revealed his character in spades today. Quite an unpleasent sight. Felt as tho this partisan little man truly did have a meltdown. Methinks he is taking direction from hillary's generous sharing of the old war room liars, and as a result, is going down the tubes-FAST.
Our President remains steadfast and honest. Nothing hurts the dems more-and today we got to see them ranting and raving under that mighty whip that rides along with the truth. My gosh, we always knew the truth can be hurtful-but for those goons-it is obviously sheer torture.

I heard that a dog found a human skull. Didn't hear if it was Smart.I just heard on FoxNews that they think it might be Jennifer Short, the little girl from Virginia who was taken when her parents were killed. They found the skull here, in NC.

Thank you so much. I think my house should be safe from flood waters but I have a lot of huge oaks trees in my yard and one of them isn't all that healthy anyhow, been worried about it all summer.

Speaking of Helen Thomas, I've been listening to the press conferences and I haven't heard her. I heard most of it but not all of it.
Is she on vacation, or was she there and I missed it, or do you suppose she is retired or moved on to some other assignment? One can only hope.

Here are my thoughts about today's fun and games .......
1. President Bush told the dismal little elf never to lie to him.
2. Don't mess with Texas!
3. The President plays chess .... not checkers.
Watch out, little tommy! You're going to be blind-sided when you least expect it!

I met Kay Bailey-Hutchinson last week and had a little time to talk with her. Told her when she got back to Washington, to kick some butt, mainly Daschle's. She had a good laugh over that one. Now a week later, he needs it worse than ever. BTW, she's a "tiny" little thing. I'm tall and was standing between her and Elizabeth Dole for a pic. She and Elizabeth are about the same size. It's going to be an interesting pic with me being so tall, standing between the two of them. :-)

I really enjoyed the dose tonight. So many funny and true comments. One good thing the Democrats do is give us a lot to laugh about, sometimes.
The pictures were great rintense and the company was even better. I enjoy listening in on the conversation of true believers.
Darlin' good luck. We were hit by hurricane Georges four years and a week ago, I know what it is like. Prayers are with you. Most people come out all right, but extremely inconvenienced but some have more difficulties.

Wonderful choice of scripture for today. Thank you so much for continuing to do this.
And tell FWI that we miss her and are keeping her in our prayers!

What a day on Capitol Hill! Not for Daschle and Gore. I think this is the day that brought down the Democratic party. They both came out looking like idiots.
