Critical Election Day Ballot Security Issues
In the 2000 election, questions of voter fraud by our opponents arose across the country. Because of this, we are making it our job to ensure that our opponents dont get away with ANYTHING on Election Night 2002. That is why we are asking our County Coordinators in West Virginia to do two very specific things in addition to the normal all-day operations of our Republican poll-watchers:
1. Legally, it is necessary that one specific individual in every precinct in the State from each of the two major parties be tasked to accompany the ballot box between the Polling Place and the CourthouseNEVER letting the ballot box out of their sight. However, experience tells us that in many cases Republican officials have been derelict in this duty--allowing Democrat officials to take the box to the Courthouse unaccompanied. To remedy this, we are asking that each County Coordinator task one reliable individual to:
a) talk to all of the Republican Precinct Poll Workers before Election Day to remind them that no ballot box can go out of the polling place to the Courthouse without escort by a Republican, and
b) that this same individual station themselves at the Courthouse on Election Night with a checklist--to ensure that a Republican shows up with each and every precinct ballot box. Any precinct that does not have a Republican escort should immediately be suspect and open to possible challenge.
2. We are asking our County Coordinators to task one highly competent and reliable individual with a video camera and a tripod to set up in the tabulation area of each and every Courthouse in the Stateand to leave the tape rolling from beginning to end of the tabulation process. Past history would indicate that the Democrats who run many of the tabulation operations in many of the Courthouses have allowed the tabulation areas to turn into a party atmosphere, creating a climate that is open to abuse of the counting process. Our experience also is that the presence of a running camera almost automatically creates a serious and secure environment for this most critical of processes.
This same individual, or the County Coordinator, should inform Courthouse officials and/or law enforcement before Election Daymaking sure they understand that it is legal and right for us to do so.
Volunteer to be an election worker/supervisor. My better half & I volunteered for this year's state primary, & it was great to be a part of the process. There won't be any fraud in our precinct this year!
And in others it is illegal to ask for ID. Obviously there is no consistency.
Excellent idea!
And, if Prop 52 passes, people will be able to register at the precints on election day and immediately cast a real ballot (!) with a utility bill -- no need for proof of citizenship or verification of eligibility, let alone a photo ID. Once the ballot is cast and the voter goes home, it is nearly impossible to prove voter fraud and impossible to "undo" ballots from ineligible voters.
I have seen very little media attention on the California propositions, most of which are for more bonds (more taxes), and almost nothing about Prop 52.
Spread the word: Vote No on 52.
That's like stopping a fish from swimming.
In every election I have participated in (Georgia), we have always had to present a valid ID before voting.
We have already had a personal conversation with the WV Secretary of State, to inform him of our plans. He happens to be a Democrat, but one of those rarest of creatures these days, a conservative Democrat.
He was very cooperative, and has promised to send a notice to all of the courthouses, informing them that our plan is perfectly legal and acceptable.
Our people in each county are also going to be talking with their courthouse officials and law enforcement, to make sure they are aware that what we are doing is allowed.
I would recommend that a coordinated plan similiar to this be implemented in all of the other States, just to head off any problems. But it should be just a selected few making the contacts--someone with political clout, preferably.
Happy hunting.
EV
A few months ago, I Freepmailed West Virginia Freepers asking them what county they lived in. The reason for this was to establish county coordinators for the Wolfe campaign. EV has worked on this extensively and we now have Wolfe campaign county coordinators in EVERY West Virginia county, all 55 of them, as well as ten regional directors. (We just had a statewide organizational meeting in Clarksburg yesterday with over 100 coordinators, directors, and other Wolfe activists in attendance. The grassroots structure to disseminate Jay Wolfe's conservative message and achieve US Senate victory has been built!)
Those of you on this "Reply To" never responded to this county identification request. Now you know what it was for. If you Freepmail me with your West Virginia county, I'll make a phone call and reply back with the contact for your Wolfe county coordinator so that you can get involved in the greatest political upset this nation has ever seen.
Eagles UP! RETIRE ROCKEFELLER!!
