Vanity Opinion: Free Republic to Maintain Present Course - Call for More Turns on the Screws.
Patriots and Politics ^ | September 6, 2002 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 09/06/2002 4:36:11 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Just in case there is any lingering doubt, my intention for Free Republic is to maintain the present course. The course charted is, IMHO, the direct line to freedom.

Our mission, as stated on our front page and elsewhere is, "...to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America."

And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

The people who are killing freedom in our country just as they are all around the world are the leftists or marxists. The leftists/marxists dominate the communist parties, the socialist parties and the American Democrat Party.

The leftist/marxist infested Democrat Party has controlled all or most of our government for what? Sixty, seventy, eighty years or more of the last hundred?

The populists, progressives, socialists, marxists, leftists, liberals, Democrats, or whatever label you place on them are the people responsible for the slave tax, aka, the income tax, the "New Deal," the Ponzi social security scheme, the "Great Society," the socialist medicare nightmare, the welfare state, environmentalnazism, feminazism, high taxes, high spending, weakening and demoralizing our military, etc., etc.

They're also responsible for abridging/restricting/curtailing many of our constitutionally guaranteed rights, such as the right to keep and bear arms, the right to freely practice our religions, the right to freedom of association, while at the same time inventing a whole new class of extra constitutional leftist "rights" such as the "right to choose," i.e., legalized abortion, "gay rights," the "separation of church and state," etc.

In addition, they are responsible for "socializing," i.e., implementing government forced and taxpayer funded education, health care, insurance and retirement programs.

They've completely taken over our our education systems where they indoctrinate our youth with their immoral and Godless socialist dogma. They've dummied-down, demoralized and destroyed our society and our traditional family units and value systems.

After all this, to me, they are the party mostly to blame for the erosion of our Constitution, the destruction of our society, the loss of our national sovereignty, the loss of our states rights, and the wholesale corruption of our government.

Thus, as I see it, the best course of action to right these wrongs is to continue removing the liberals, socialists and leftists from our government as fast as we can. Eliminating the liberal influence automatically raises the level of conservatism in our government and its institutions.

We eliminate them by replacing them with non Democrats. This means, for the most part, supporting and voting for the Republican candidate in each race whether it be federal, state or local.

The Libertarians, Reformers, and other third parties know they cannot win national races. They do a great job writing, debating, and fighting for our constitutional rights, but they are not effective enough to win races. God bless them, they do not have and never will have the numbers necessary to win.

I fully support President Bush and the war on terrorism. We either fight this war now, and fight it over there and on our terms, or we can wait and fight it here on our soil. I never want to see a repeat of 9/11!

I never again want to see American blood running down our streets. The primary function of the federal government is to defend our borders, and, in this fight, that is exactly what we are doing.

I urge all conservatives and freedom loving Americans to go to the polls in November and give the President and the Congress a mandate to swing America away from the left. The pendulum has been way off to the left for way too many years. It's time to swing it our way for a change. It's time to crank a few more turns to the screws.

We're OK with the bees. Damn, we do 3-4 solid months of 100+ degree weather every year here. A month of that is over 110. We laugh at 100 degrees...on the way down.

It is true. Our only chance to stem (and reverse) the tide of liberalism and socialism is to vote Republican. There are many Libertarians and other patriot-minded people who detest the Republican party. However, they are so extreme in their views that they guarantee that their candidates will never win an election at the national level in enough numbers to ever make a difference. By rejecting the Republican, they help ensure that a liberal Democrat gets in office instead. Some of them say that it would be a very good thing if the Republicans were to lose badly and that the liberal Democrats take total control of the federal government. They argue that if this happens, the nation will soon be in such sorry shape that the people will rise up and have another revolution that will result in us rolling back liberalism and socialism once and for all. Well they are wrong. The worst thing that could happen to this country is for the liberal/socialists to gain complete power. Once they gain total power, we may never get this country back again.

When I say these anti-Republican patriots are "extreme in their views," I do not mean that in a bad way. For I too am extreme in my political views. For example, I believe that the government has no business in our private lives. That includes drugs. While I abhor drugs, I resent the fact that the government can take my house should some teenager next door plant some marijuana seeds in my back yard. I also believe that gun ownership should be so routine that you can walk into a Wal-Mart and obtain a gun and ammunition as easily as you do a pack of cigarettes. I believe that all government social programs should be eliminated entirely, including welfare and Social Security (with all Social Security payments being returned to the taxpayers). I believe that the only legitimate role of federal government should be to print our money and protect our borders with a kick-ass military.

So I think very much like a Libertarian. But I don't vote like one because I know that a candidate who supports my views will NEVER be elected. At least not in today's environment where the majority of people believe that the government's role should be "cradle-to-grave" welfare.

The Republicans are our only hope to turn back the tide of socialism. It can be argued that they aren't all that much different than the Democrats but trust me, if Republicans start getting elected in large numbers, that will change. The only reason you see a lot of Republicans act like Democrats is because they feel that have to be that way to get elected. Once they realize that people will vote them into office based on their conservative views, even the RINO's will start taking a turn to the right. Trust that this is so. Otherwise, why be Republicans at all? If the RINO's were truly liberals, they'd be died-in-the-wool Democrats right from the start.

Of course, some became "Republicans" after 1994... it was merely 'convenient' to be a republican at the time...

But, maybe I'm just cynical...

"Nope. I disagree again. Get rid of the lawyer judges and get some in that tell the jury they have the right to rule against an unjust law, is the way to go. That is what can change the laws."

And lead to chaos. A government must be of laws, and not men.History is full of tyrants who acted without law, rather, they appealed to the basest instincts of their subjects, many of whom expected good things to come from the abandonment of law..

Though I believe the average Freeper has a higher I.Q. than a random person in the populace, This fact is lost on 90% on the forum.

If the voters want to eliminate gun control, lower taxes, abandon SS, etc..., the pols will oblige.

The problem is, the voters don't want that. I wanna move near all these Freepers who claim that everyone wants a low-cost conservative government - and I also want to know what color is the sky in their reality.

You know Jim it occurred to me just this morning that everything is going to work out just fine. I was on the train the other day and saw a college kid a few seats away. He had a ring through his eyebrow, and wild, multi-colored hair,... basically you're average kid of 20 or so.

The astounding thing was, he was reading "The Road to Serfdom" by FA Hayek. Not Das Kapital, or the Manifesto, but "The Road to Serfdom". It occurred to me that Hayek will likely end up being to the 21st century, what Marx was to the 20th. And if that's so, then everything is going to be OK.

We're at a crossroads now. The left is still strong, but it's discredited. It has no voice. Well, none that anyone wants to hear anyway. All the new ideas, and all the sharpest minds in America are on the right now. The hippies are too old to play the rebel, and the kids are too smart to buy the hypocrisy and contradictions they are selling in academia. Every day, the ranks of the left grow a little thinner.

So hold the line, and stay the course.

If we all do, things are going to be OK.

And thanks for going to all this trouble.

Although, one could add to that equation the fact that if we got rid of vote fraud (especially that consisting of dead people, non-citizens, and people who vote more than once) THEN we might know what the voters really want... until then, elections will almost always lean leftward, and will continue to get worse... just mho...
