A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

New York, New York!
Like the rest of you, I'm "Getting to Know You", more of you, better every day. Today we shine the on firebrand, a native of East Orange, N.J., who has lived in Manhattan since her college years. She first became political in 1992 because of neighborhood events, and in '94, switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. Firebrand is presently a local GOP leader and is also active in GOP clubs around town.
firebrand
FReeper since 02-27-00
Firebrand has a high profile job as an editor of conservative material and prefers not to have her photograph published. Since she joined FR in February of 2000, she has become more than just a passive FReeper, and her list of accomplishments and activities include the following:
- Chapter Executive of the Tri-State Chapter
- (Prior to becoming the Chapter Executive, she was the New York City Group Leader);
- Editor of the Clinton Legacy Cookbook;
- Organizer of the Bush rallies in Times Square and practically every other rally and protest FR has held in New York City.
A few words about firebrand shared with me by another FReeper:
"She organized the Freeps in Times Square to call on Al Gore and LIEberman to give it up in late November 2000 and December 2000. She was at the UN Freep, I think, the Mexican Embassy, the one where the globalists marched, we sang patriotic songs and the Cops loved us, extended our permits for unlimited time! Rudy in Newburgh, too, she was there when Rudy shook all our hands and posed for pictures with us, Kathryn Prudhomme in front of Hillary's campaign headquarters in NYC...." ~~ Race Bannon
I always enjoy seeing some of the threads linked on a FReeper's Profile Page. Firebrand has a variety of topics on hers, with such names as: Non-War On Terror; Best Memories of Favorite FR Posters No Longer Posting; Campaign Finance Revision Act; Combatting Christianity; Disrupting on FR; Democrats Mess With Texas But Run Risk of Going Too Far; Global Warming: Scientists Unravel Whodunnit; FreeRepublic.com Makes Page Six of NY Post; just to name a few.
Thanks, Firebrand! You're One of FR's Finest!

;-) Hi Angel - nice to see you back here. The WTC cross was one of the greatest NYC sunrises I've ever seen. I thought that Firebrand and her friends would enjoy it on her featured day.
The 9.11 thread should be awesome. The title could be simply, Let's Roll.
We'll each have our own take on what that day meant to us, or how it has affected us and what changes may have ocurred in our lives since then.

I love the WTC Cross Sunrise photo. I have it hanging up in my office at work. Along with about 100 other pictures and political cartoons...(LOL) My office is quite the talk of our workplace!

Congratulations, Firebrand!
Freeper gals are hot stuff!

This thread wouldn't be complete without a hymn of praise to our founder, StarFan. StarFan started the Tri-State chapter and was its first chapter executive. She retains the title of Group Leader, but in my mind she will always be co-president. Thanks, StarFan, for all that you did and still do.

Many thanks, humblegunner. Great picture!
To: Luis Gonzalez
High praise, coming from such an activist as yourself. Thank you, Luis!

***You've Got Mail!***
A blonde went to her mail box several times way before it was time for the mailman to make his rounds.
A neighbor noticed her repeated trips to the curb and asked if she was waiting for a special delivery.
"No," she replied, "My computer keeps telling me I have mail."

Especially the past few weeks here in NYC. This day is doubly special: my freeper day and the city stopped boiling for a while. Thank you, MinuteGal!

I don't understand things I don't know about!Hate to admit it, Lady, but....
