A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

The
Accidental
Tourist
He's Everywhere! He's Everywhere!
Lowbridge
FReeper since 02-12-99
It's all Lowbridge's fault! All of a sudden, after 911, when that photo of him standing at the top of the Trade Center first appeared, we were seeing the Tourist Guy everywhere! Lowbridge, who is one of FR's most creative photo manipulators, began to insert Tourist Guy's photo in the most outlandish places. Soon he created a whole web site with this accidental tourist appearing in places one could only dream about!
One look at Lowbridge' Profile Page and I knew there was no way I could summarize in just two or three paragraphs his commitment to FReeRepublic, FReeRepublic-related activities and organizations, and FREEPERS in general! This New Yorker is almost like the Tourist Guy; he's everywhere, he's everywhere! I urge all of you to take a look at his profile page, check out some of his links, and also see some of the ways he's taken FReeper's heads and morphed them into movie posters and promos. Two of my personal favorites are pictured here. Click on the thumbnails to see them full-size.
A few things about our FReeper of the Day that I'd like to point out:
Lowbridge is a big supporter and promoter of AnnaZ and Mercuria's FR radio program UNSPUN the website. He organized and hosted the FReeper Bus Trip to Albany. He has created a parody of Democratic Underground. He is a chapter leader of the FRee Republic Second Amendment Task Force. Many of you met Lowbridge in Washington D.C. for the FReeper Inaugural Ball; he attended The anti-United Nations Rally last July, and in August, he got to spend some quality time with some of his favorite people in California. I would be remiss if I didn't include a link to that thread, where such good memories were made: California Memories
Thank you, Lowbridge! You ARE one of FR's Finest!

Good day, MR. SAINT. You seem to be in good form today.
Feeling a bit frisky, eh?
A Question A lawyer's dog, running about unleashed, beelines for a butcher shop and steals a roast.
Butcher goes to lawyer's office and asks, "If a dog running unleashed steals a piece of meat from my store, do I have a right to demand payment for the meat from the dog's owner?"
The lawyer answers, "Absolutely."
"Then you owe me $8.50. Your dog was loose and stole a roast from me today."
The lawyer, without a word, writes the butcher a check for $8.50 (attorneys don't carry cash; it's too plebeian).
Several days later, the butcher opens the mail and finds an envelope from the lawyer: "$50 due for a consultation."

Night Lines: Leno.... Hard to believe, but in two weeks Clinton will not be President anymore. He'll just be another chubby middle-aged guy bugging waitresses at Hooters. ....
The big story is Hillary Clinton [will be] getting $8 million to write about her life in the White House -- including all of Bill's affairs. Actually, she can't write about all of his affairs, or else it would turn into one of those Time Life series books where you get one a month for 80 months. ....
All the new Senators were sworn in [recently], including Hillary Clinton. There was one kind of awkward moment when Hillary was asked what state she represented -- [and] she had to look at her driver's license.
... Gore says he'll leave Washington with love, appreciation, and hope. I think he's full of it! ....
Janet Reno will be looking for a new job too. She was going to open up her own Web site, but Amazon.com has already been taken.
It's now official. Hillary Clinton is now the junior Senator from New York; she was sworn in. She used the Clinton family Bible for the swearing in -- you know, the one with seven commandments.

...So THAT's what happened to my last Victoria's Secret order... Hi, Billie:
Hey, you are funny!! You are getting into my territory now. Providing great competition.
Therefore, for a moment I will be serious.
A Time for Choosing
You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done.

"I believe with all my heart that standing up for America means standing up for the God who has so blessed our land. We need God's help to guide our nation through stormy seas. But we can't expect Him to protect America in a crisis if we just leave Him over on the shelf in our day-to-day living." --Ronald Reagan
