A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Show Me The Money!
You see a lot of this guy for about a week to 10 days....four times a year. You can't get away from him. He's at the top of your mailbox, the top of your comments page....he's everywhere! You watch that little red bar crawl across the page.....39%.....46%......51%....we're halfway there, folks ......69% .......85% ........96% ......come on, FReepers, we're almost there .........99% .........100%! YOU DID IT!
BadJoe on CNN, delivering his award-winning essay at the March for Justice in Washington, D.C. October 31, 1998.

BadJoe is one of FR's biggest cheerleaders, having been around since February of 1998. Remember the Pool Poopy thread? LOL One of the very first get-togethers that FR had, at JimRob's house.....it lasted for 40 days and 40 nights. (no, not really!) That party, as well as the photos that Jim posted are still being talked about, though the thread and the photos are long gone down the Memory Hole. :)
BadJoe was at that party. When many local chapters of FR were being organized, Joe was there to help in any way. FR's Jim Robinson has thousands of FReeper FRiends all over the country, but none any better than BadJoe. If he's needed anywhere, count on it......he'll be there. Thanks, Joe, for being one of FR's Finest..... today and every day.

Today's Your Day, BadJoe! Have a great one!
You didn't think I'd forget your beautiful boss WillaJohns, did you?

What? Is it time for another FReepathon?
Didn't I just donate my left arm last month?
What now, my firstborn?
(Forget that, he's fully employed, he can donate on his own!)

You couldn't find a better recipient for this honor, Billie!
BADJOE works so tirelessly on the FReepathons and always does so with such good humor and patience (at least publicly ..... WillaJohns might have a different story to tell ... hehe!)
But his posts on other threads reveal him to be much more than just our #1 money man ....... he exemplifies the spirit of patriotism that helps make FR the best website on the whole wide web!
Thanks, BADJOE!!!

Congratulations BADJOE! Thanks for putting the spotlight on a great FReeper, Billie.
I remember reading that pool party thread. That was before I had registered, but sure enjoyed reading all about it.
Once again, Thanks Joe for all you do for FR and thanks again for the GREAT chair.

Bush ready to trade Maine for Crawford
Media and staff, however, would rather avoid Texas in August
07/08/2002
By DAVID JACKSON / The Dallas Morning News
Excerpt:
KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine - Cool sea breezes, coffee on the hotel veranda and long walks on the beach.
Enjoy it while you can, President Bush told his entourage as they enjoyed a holiday weekend on the Maine coast.
Crawford in August is right around the corner.
Mr. Bush himself can't wait to get back to his beloved Texas ranch, which he again plans to use as a western White House in August, despite not-so-subtle suggestions by staff and reporters that he consider another visit to his parents' compound in Kennebunkport.
In wishing the president a happy 56th birthday, one reporter asked Mr. Bush: "Now that you're a little older and wiser, are you rethinking avoiding spending all of August here?"
No, Mr. Bush replied: "I think you'll like Crawford."
Members of the presidential caravan said the people in Crawford and Waco are great, but the area lacks the amenities of the seaside resort. Some suggested a parity plan by which every day in Crawford is matched by a day in Kennebunkport.
Don't count on it, Bush aides said. One joked that that while Mr. Bush likes to go to Crawford to unwind, everyone else seems to go there to whine.

Good morning Billie - thanks for the excellent choice for today's honoree. I never see Joe until the coffers are near empty, but I know how he works his a$$ off throughout the fundraisers - the man must be able to exist on two hours sleep each night - amazing to me, and appreciated by me.
Cheers Joe, enjoy your day!
