**PRAYER WARRIORS ONLY** [request]
Me
Posted on 06/17/2002 10:37:34 PM PDT by VaBthang4
Hi Guys [& Gals].
I would like to request prayer for my stepfather.
He was shot Friday.
He took a 9mm hollowpoint to the lower chest on his right side. The round is either lodged between two vertebrates or it is sitting close to a disk, the Doctors have run two separate CT scans and arent quite sure at this point where exactly the bullet is located.
He has been kept in a semi-coma in order to prevent him from moving around. This has brought on Neumonia [sp?] and currently his temperature is at 103.
His name is Gary L. Casserly and he is in the Neuro-trama unit at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
I would greatly covet prayers on his behalf dealing with complete recovery, the neumonia and any complications brought about by his being immobile and also prayer for the Lord to heal whatever [if any] damage has been done to his spinal cord or any nerve damage.
Godly Wisdom as well as discernment for all of the Hospital staff who come in contact with him regardless of their job or specialty.
Some of you can simply come in agreement with me but the true intercessors can hit whatever the Lord wants you to cover.
I have two younger Sisters and a younger Brother as well as my Mother that I would like you to also cover.
The Doctors have already started in with their doom & gloom scenarios. I am not moved by them but other Family members could be.
Thanks to the Saints.

Our Precious Heavenly Father - I know I'm not worthy to ask this of You but I'm counting on the Blood of Jesus to make me worthy. Please help this family out with a mighty miracle. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

I know I'm DEFINETLY not computer savvy.. but darn it.. I have a hard time just finding the "prayer thread" on my first load up page. I wish it was on the opening page of posts. If it is.. please guide me to it. I love your thread. It is such a positive thread, to see people who are not ashamed to say our Lords name out loud, who care for their fellow man. It restores me,..and lifts me up like no other threads do. It is the "best" of FR imho. :o)

You didn't say how your stepfather was shot.. but I'm imagining if it was in an act of violence, he will need prayers to deal with that too, as will your whole family.
But, for the immediate needs, We pray our Heavenly Father will intercede immediately. That he will heal your dads tissues, the nerves, his lungs. OUR FATHER CAN HEAL HIM, and we ask with all our hearts that He does. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ who shed His blood for us all. Amen
Prayers will continue. Please keep us advised. Also, pnuemonia is not uncommon when a patient is on a respirator. Sure, they don't like for that to happen.. but it does. Hopefully they will be able to get him off the respirator real soon. He is in good hands,..and just so you know, they ALWAYS have to tell you the MOST negative outcomes. Just incase. That is pretty basic if the patient is in bad shape to begin with. I feel it has more to do with malpractice insurance. Not to say your stepdad isn't hurt really bad.. but these days a doctor who would give you too much hope, could be sued for having mislead you. I hope I explained that right. What I'm trying to say,.. is you are right to keep the faith. I've known a lot of people who were given really bad prognosis,..and lived!!!
Keep the faith!!! Stay strong!!
