You probably haven't heard of our town, Joe. It's just a small city of about 100,000 or so people located in northeast Wisconsin. We have a few paper factories, a few insurance companies, a few colleges, not much, ya know.

Oh, we do have a little football team named the Green Bay Packers. Once in a while, teams from other cities--a whole lot larger than little ol' us--come here to play games at this stadium called Lambeau and we're just dazzled by the sophistication of the folks from all dem Big Cities. If they talk to us nice, we give them bratwurst. And sometimes you can even see them Packers play on TV. They've been pretty good, but what would we know, Joe--we're just hicks.

The more information I get on this lastest arrest the more nervous I am getting. The US Attorney NY and the US Government could not prove in Federal Court its case to further detainment this guy, so it was decided to give it to the Military. If we are going to suspend Habeas Corpus I wish someone would have the guts to say so.

My problem is that this is a US Citizen, more than likely a damgerous one. Now why in the hell couldn't the US Attorney prove this guy was a National Security risk in Federal Court? Heck Iam told even the Judge in the case was getting pissed.

I have no problem with detaining people who are a National Security risk, but heck not to the extent of pissing on the Constitution. Suspend Habeas Corpus or follow the rule of law.

If there is a constitutional laywer at FR, someone explain this to me.

More and more this whole Mohamedan al Quaeda thing smacks of pure plain ideological conspiracy that has been building up under our very noses and supported by elements within the government - the Clinton regime. In regards to this subhuman that's been picked up - I have been to Yemeni weddings where (sitting with the women of course)have met Latina women who are girlfriends/even wives (2nd and 3rd) of the Yemeni men. The distinct impression is the hatred for American society in general and the sense of mission -"my kids will be come famous and important because their dad is a Muslim."

All I can say is that this ideological fervor I see among the many Arabs I see and know can only end up with one winner and one loser. If America is serious about this one I don't want to hear any whining about civil liberties being whittled away and such.

Yep, been going on a long time. Islamist /Pan Arab Nationalists have been going strong for centuries. The modern problem can be traced to Jimmy Carter and his failure to wield American power to cut the noses of the clerics in Qom in 77-78.
