Or could it be Bush has dissed his conservative base in favor of poll numbers? Maybe people have just figured it out. Just because they're not as middle of the road as you, doesn't mean they don't love their country. Giving away everything to the Democrats really isn't doing us any favors, you know.
Someone should probably warn you that the lack of voice inflection and body language on Internet forums sometimes causes people to interpret declarative sentences, such as the one above, as if they represent the actual opinion of the writer. This can cause people to mistakenly dismiss a fellow participant as a complete idiot, when they might not be.
Bingo, these civil servants of which many were hired, promoted and groomed by Clintoons are still in EPA, The FBI, CIA, Forest Service, SOS and other areas.
I have been saying for several months, we need to elect a Republican senate to change this way of life. The Senate could pass a bill requiring all civil service people over GS 7 to submit a letter of resignation to each new president before he is sworn in. He has up to 4 years to accept that resignation letter. So when something like this happens, they can be stopped by security the next day and handed an old orange box with their belongings and not allowed to enter again. Their ids and security passes would be collected and shredded.
Since GW would be a little late re getting this done at his two year mark, the senate could pass the bill with a rider requiring all civil service Rats to submit their letter of resignation effective for two years the minute GW signs the new bill.
Then, there would be massive changes in these departments with the life long card carrying rats still pushing the rat agenda.
Besides the savings to taxpayers would be tremendous.

But it seems the difference between you and me when it comes to the President, is that I believe he has earned my trust, so my view is that there are things that he knows that I don't, which mitigate what appears to be on the surface. We are not privy to the goings on at the WH, but my clue that something was afoot was the seeming change in Mitch McConnell when CFR was signed. Perhaps Bush just made a mistake on that one, but I don't know that yet. With this President there is always a plan, and it is rarely ovbvious to the outside observer.
For you, it was a betrayal and you no longer trust him to do the right thing, which belies your claims that you support him.
All I know is, whether you define yourself as a basher or not, you don't have much respect for the President..........and I do.
That didn't stop Clinton from firing a top scientist that disagreed with him on global warming.
It's almost like they get paid to do it.
Dubya does just one thing right and the mind-numbed followers of GOP propaganda all shout, "See, he really is conservative", as if that one conservative act suddenly absolves him of all the liberal c#@p that he has supported/signed. This one statement doesn't even begin to absolve him for either CFR or USA Patriot.
The reaction of the bushies on this report, sadly reminds me of the fans of an also-ran local sports team, that accidentally wins one game by a single point and the local paper splashes, "Local Team Wins Big" across the front page. It's understandable that the huge relief would cause such overreaction in both cases. It's just sad that one of those cases involves a Republican President and Republican voters, desperate for good news.
I remind everyone that conservatism is not a single issue. It is a state of mind that crosses all issues. If Dubya had supported conservative issues all along and stumbled on this single issue, I would gladly accept it as a minor flaw in an otherwise conservative agenda. But, this is a single conservative instance in an otherwise moderate to liberal agenda.
In fact, being an isolated event, this could as easily have been nothing more than that his advisors told him that he needed to do something conservative to keep his Republican base in line and this was a throwaway issue to him. But, since I am inclined to give anyone who does anything conservative, the benefit of the doubt, I will make this statement:
"Thank you President Bush, for this token of conservatism. True conservatives anxiously await further signs that you have indeed, mended your moderate, one-world ways."
Let me extend my apologies to the President for my critical remarks on this topic. Let me also apologize to any Freeper for any unkind remarks that I might have made concerning their thoughts or beliefs on this report or the discussion that surrounded it.

You see I don't share the view of the religious right -- my way or I won't vote for a candidate. The stay at homers can do just that but then keep their mouths shut if they don't like something.
If there is an (R) behind a name, I am voting for the candidate because I want control of the House and Senate in D.C. and in OK! That is my priority as a lifelong Republican who has volunteered more hours than I can imagine! You do what you want with your core issues and vote -- I will do what I want and mine is to vote straight Republican! I don't tell you how to vote and I would certainly hope that you are not trying to tell me how to vote or who to support or even who to listen to on the radio.

There is a preponderence of evidence of global warming. There is overwhelming evidence that human activity has increased CO2 in the atmosphere. There is evidence that CO2 is a small to miniscule contributor to global warming.
Evidence against significant global warming.
Earth has had wide variations in global mean temperature over geologic time. Solar output varies. Volcanic activity has a much greater effect on the atmosphere than humans. We ddon't know what caused the Ice Ages or the warm temperatures we have today. We have overwhelming evidence that human activity did not melt the glaciers. Best theory involves the Earth's axis and/or volcainc activity, neither of which humans can control. Some evidence points to the ending of pollution in the Soviet empire (mostly burning of high-sulfur coal) as causing the increase in temperature in the 1990s.
So if the Earth gets hot, we can:
1. Burn sulfurous coal
2. Drop small nukes and kick dust into the atmosphere.
