This is a special double-edition daily dose due to FR being down yesterday...
President Bush and his administration were in the defensive today as Democrats and the media swarmed around revelations that the President was given a general warning about possible hijackings before September 11th. It was revealed later in the day that the very same Democrats leading the negative charge, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt, also knew of the briefings yet failed to let the media know. By the end of the day, it was the Republicans in Congress leading the charge and taking the Democrats to task for their usual games of partisan slander.
This afternoon, in a move to give the public more knowledge on the exact nature of the briefings, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice confronted the media with detailed national security intelligence in the months leading up to September 11th. It was made clear that the intelligence briefings given to the President were not specific or detailed enough to prevent the suicide bomber attacks.
In much lighter news, the President began the day at the First Annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Later he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.
I like that! STCR New acronym for my collection. I like it a lot.
MAN THE PHONES!!
Tomorrow, call CNN, CNBC, local affiliates of the networks, your Senators and Congressman, ADVERTISERS of news shows, THE LOCAL DEMOCRAT PARTY HQ, talk radio, and newspapers. If you are a shareholder, call Time-Warner, GE, and Disney. Cancel subscriptions. Sell stock if you can. Make a fuss...a BIG fuss!
We are the broken-glass Republicians, the veterans of the Battle of Florida! Get that fighting spirit back. We are CITIZENS, NOT SPECTATORS!!!
Excellent suggestion!
I have reviewed the thread and can not find those, to whom, you are referring, perhaps you could reference several explicit examples.
Your comment reminds me of Everybody Loves Raymond, when Ray does something flaky and Debra accuses him of doing it for a devious reason, and he will say, "No, I'm not that smart."
The dems think one move ahead in their checker game, while Bush and staff are working the chess board.
See you all tomorrow, NordP
You have been a chronic Bush-basher from the moment he announced his candidacy. I care not for your supposed intellectual superiority. The President is heading for Mt. Rushmore territory; you are heading for the ash-heap of history.
Now, I wish you would take yourself away, because your posts are taking up space in which others with more inspiring and meaningful opinions could post.
Perfect, on so many levels.
I haven't posted on FR for quite some time - mostly lurked over the last several months. However --due to today's events - I am BACK!!! Sadly--the events of today have energized me and I am ready to come back to FR and be an active poster once again.
Anyway - you have done an absolutely terrific job with these pictures. I was unable to sleep - had a bad day today - not just the Bush-bashing -but that is a lot of it. I came downstairs a little while ago - and logged on to FR, saw this thread and it brightened my spirits.
THANKS!!
And I can't believe how beautiful Mrs. Reagan still is. I'm glad she's taking care of herself as well as President Reagan.
Our President Bush is as ever, a joy to behold. No need to worry about the nasty attacks by the Demos. They're losing and they're desperate. All we ALL have to do is VOTE, and the President will have a Congress that isn't putting us all in danger.
Thank you, dear rintense, for all your wonderful work in giving us these photos each night.
Will be doing my part this weekend, in this new war that the DEMs have declared on the R party. What a hateful bunch they are. And (as I said on another thread), I'm ready to say they are unAmerican.
They also have a new purpose in life, post-x42: to unearth the bottom of the sewer of politics.
Something happened in me today over this demrat slander. You know we have all put up with egregious cr*p from the dems the last several decades, but something broke in me toward them today. My toleration for their tactics just sort of snapped and I went into a war mentality toward them. Think of it -- they want power so desperately they fight for first position to destroy a president who is helping fight the war against terrorists. Talk about misplaced priorities! This threatens the very security of America when they can lull uncurious voters into thinking Bush tacitly approved bin Laden's attacks. My God in heaven, they are dangerous!
Great job on Radio FR R-intense :o)
Thanks for the great pics!
What part of "we admire and respect the President" can't your limited intellect grasp?
