A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/15 and 5/16/02

This is a special double-edition daily dose due to FR being down yesterday...
President Bush and his administration were in the defensive today as Democrats and the media swarmed around revelations that the President was given a general warning about possible hijackings before September 11th. It was revealed later in the day that the very same Democrats leading the negative charge, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt, also knew of the briefings yet failed to let the media know. By the end of the day, it was the Republicans in Congress leading the charge and taking the Democrats to task for their usual games of partisan slander.
This afternoon, in a move to give the public more knowledge on the exact nature of the briefings, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice confronted the media with detailed national security intelligence in the months leading up to September 11th. It was made clear that the intelligence briefings given to the President were not specific or detailed enough to prevent the suicide bomber attacks.
In much lighter news, the President began the day at the First Annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Later he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.

Thanks for the double dose of pictures tonight rintense, it was a relief after today. I cannot express how disgusted I am with the democrats. They are a bunch of unloyal, selfish, sad excuses for "leaders". Can you imagine any of those bozos as President?
I hope the President himself says something tomorrow about this whole sorry affair and the democrats can go POUND SAND!
Like others on the dose, I too immediately went and purchased the "photo" that had the dems in a tizzy last night. The RNC may find themselves overwhelmed with orders for the photo, at least I hope so. God Bless President Bush!!

I never did have repect for the media in general, and in the last nine years have had no respect for the democrats. They have allowed themselves to be Clintonized. Prior to Clinton, they would not have gone this far. Today, the democratic party has no morals and no dignity.

Well, George W. Bush is definitely my hero, and I will always be proud of that and proud of himOh, me too, Patty!! This world needs heroes, and I can't think of a better man to admire!
To: GUIDO
The media's choice of headlines was totally irresponsible and intended to cause the administration embarrassment. For those people who don't bother to read beyond the headline and first paragraph, the harm has been done.

Democrats are already starting to back off since it was confirmed that they were given the same information from the White House that the President had.

I'm so sick of Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt it's sickening. But I also look forward to when ever the White House releases some tidbit of information that sends them on a mad dash for CNN's microphones to sqwauck about what the White House has just released, because I know in a day or two they will have egg on their face.

Prior to Clinton, they would not have gone this far. Today, the democratic party has no morals and no dignity. There was a time that I would think of voting for a Democrat (vote for the person, not the party). After the FL fiasco, I swore I would never even think of voting for a Democrat again. These last few months have only cemented that resolve.

It's gonna backfire BIG TIME!! Ari and Condi were both fantastic, and so was Rumsfeld when Byrd (yuck!) was giving him a hard time.
THIS WHOLE THING IS SO STUPID!!!!! I HATE RATS!!
But you know what I think too? They've been showing pictures of President Bush at Ground Zero, and on 9/11, and in the long run, this may serve as a reminder to people of how incredibly masterful his handling of this crisis has been.
To: McLynnan
I am only responsible for the quality of the humor, not the consequences . . . . . .
To: Kath
yes...Did not quite work out the way they thought it would....neither did enron.

You and I think alike. W is no fool, and he's not surrounded by fools. He continually beats the Dems at their own game. They are playing with a master....Bubba was an amateur. I only hope the initial negative impact of the "W Knew about 9/11 Ahead of Time" headlines will not linger in people's minds.
To: TexasNative2000
Grab a dictionary. To incite a response from another party by means of agitation is to 'provoke', not 'invoke'. Silly you, "invoke" means to summon. Why provoke when you can summon?

I wonder if there are 2 different addresses. The one on my return envlope uses the 1721 box number and the 20077-4624 zip.
To: eskimo; rintense
it was not my intent to exclude, from any discussion, those who linger in a monosyllabic environment. Huh?
(Remember we are lamebrains and don't understand your big words.)
P.S. to rintense. I assume because you are here that you didn't have post-traumatic glaucoma or a corneal laceration or anterior chamber hemorrhage?
