A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/15 and 5/16/02

This is a special double-edition daily dose due to FR being down yesterday...

President Bush and his administration were in the defensive today as Democrats and the media swarmed around revelations that the President was given a general warning about possible hijackings before September 11th. It was revealed later in the day that the very same Democrats leading the negative charge, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt, also knew of the briefings yet failed to let the media know. By the end of the day, it was the Republicans in Congress leading the charge and taking the Democrats to task for their usual games of partisan slander.

This afternoon, in a move to give the public more knowledge on the exact nature of the briefings, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice confronted the media with detailed national security intelligence in the months leading up to September 11th. It was made clear that the intelligence briefings given to the President were not specific or detailed enough to prevent the suicide bomber attacks.

In much lighter news, the President began the day at the First Annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Later he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.

Frankly, I think that Mrs Reagan is a bush babe!

I think that's clear. But have you ever seen a picture of any woman who didn't look like one? Even the nasties like McKinney, hillary, Feinstein, Mikulski, et al can't wait to get a kiss and a smile.
Can anyone post a pic of W with a woman who doesn't look enamored of him? I haven't seen one.

I think one of the things the dems are trying to head off is the fact that
this investigation of what led up to 9-11 just might bring out a lot more corruption
from the Clinton administration. I can't see how it can be avoided but since
this little so-called revelation has been blown up way out of proportion, whatever comes out now can
be explained away by the dems as the repubs trying to tar Clinton to justify what they
are trying to convince people that Bush did.

Does that make sense or has my one glass of wine messed up my usual logical thought?

I think the info came out yesterday from the materials being put together by the administration for the hearings. It looks to me like the WH cut the rats off at the pass, because Ari had a briefing and so did Condi, very quickly after Tommy and Dickie gave their announcements of 'grave concern.' (Give me a break!)

If the WH didn't plan it, they knew it was coming, and by later in the day, the dims changed their tunes.

Tonite with Brian Williams, Tim Russert commented that everyone knows that nomatter who the president was, that NO ONE had any doubts that if the president knew something that he would have done something about it. That no one was saying that the president would willingly imperil the American people . In fact he said that this was an intelligence problem with the different agencies not reporting to each other.

I would like to say what a valuable thread this is. We have seen wonderful pictures, received DrDeb's excellent and inspiring report, been encouraged by MJY's smack-down of McAuliffe, received the address and phone number from Wphile to get those pictures, and are ORGANIZED!!!

So, if we are down tomorrow, make those calls and write those letters, and be ready to report! AND if we are not down, make those calls anyway!!

I wondered greatly at the location of that photo, also, and so have been at Yahoo's site where rintense gets many of the photos, but didn't see that one there. (I also didn't look at the properties to see if she got it from Yahoo, duh.) Anyway, I was wondering why Bush had his hands in that funny "quiet down" pose and it turns out he was trying to shush the crowd's cheers at the Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. That, combined with Mrs. Reagan's bowing of her head when the crowd cheered her, were two poignant antitheses of x42 and his wife bruno. True reflections of humility. Brazenness holds up its held and soaks in the adulation.

I have noticed tonight that the RATS a saying that they have went to the archives and pulled the briefing of that SAME day and it mentions nothing about hijackings or airplanes, and that they didn't get the same briefing the President did.

That's very clever when you factor in that the intelligence committee got the briefing the next day NOT the SAME day. ANOTHER RAT TACTIC.
