Prayer Request-My Sister's Terminal Lung Disease

My sister was diagnosed with a rare lung disease on Friday, Interstatial Lung Disease. The prognosis is terminal. She is only 29 and in otherwise good health.
Appearantly, an infection, the nature of which is unknown, is producing a constant state of pneumonia. Since the doctors don't know the nature of the infection, they can not stop it. It is causing scar tissue to form all throughout the lungs. Scar tissue isn't very elastic and will not permit oxygen to travel from the lungs to the blood.
End result is that the doctor said in 1 to 2 years she will suffocate.
Requesting prayers for her and any medical info that could be of help/leads in stopping this infection before it ruins the remaining lung tissue.

You might have your doctor contact the CDC and ask about fungals -- there are some strange ones.

My prayer is that God will give the doctors wisdom in order to find the cause of the Pnemonia and they will discover a treatment for it. I also pray that you will find or someone will lead you to a treatment for her.
Your sister has already passed from death to life in Christ.
Keep searching the internet. My husband lost sight in his right eye 7 weeks ago. The doctors said that there was nothing that could be done. He found a doctor (by using the internet) that was doing experimental surgery (now FDA approved). Without treatment he could have possible lost the entire eye. He had the surgery and we have prayer support across the country. His eye is almost back to normal physically and we will know in about 4 months whether or not his vision will return. The doctors say that he is in God's hands. What better place to be!!!!

Chronic sinus problems, sometimes a sinus problem can drip into the lungs, leads to infection. Sometimes it's not that obvious that it is occuring since it's leaking down the throat usally when the person is sleeping.
It may come and go with alergies and viruses.
Check out the environment she lives in as well. You may find a source of infection that is not obvious, such as the airconditioning system, leading to possible airborne fungus, bacteria and such.
It's sad about your sister, but your faith will see you and her through these tough time. God Bless.

Seriously -- one of my aunts had a life-threatening mysterious lung infection which turned out to be a very rare fungus. She was treated and is fine.
The CDC did get involved.

We must believe in miracles for in the end we are all incompetent and need God's help. The only case of strange lung disease I heard was my brother in law. He had a moving business and one day moved dusty furniture from the attic of a house of an old man who had abandoned the house to a retirement home. He caught in the dust a rare virus and they did not know what it was, yet still removed about half of his right lung. That saved the rest of his body. However, later they found out it was some kind of rare virus they did not know about after weeks of tests, something not caught since the 1900s, date about which some of the furniture had been moved to the attic when the old man moved in first.
In these cases people have to think out of the box and realize that apparently there is not an easy or available healing/treatment algorithm for doctors. Unfortunately it is up to the patient and helpers researching the problem to find a cure and a healing algorithm, for these people are after all the leaders in medical advances.
A cure may be available out there, but which is it? How to chose one? We have to stay open minded and be careful about so called miracle cures. One thing is for sure, getting to know the patogen is most important and this patogen should be thoroughly analyzed using different labs, even accross the world, and looking at registered diseases and patogens this problem might indicate. Yet only doctors can guide well the decisions in the end because only them can discern which disease it is or it is not. So many different diseases requiring completely different treatments have such similar symptoms, that it really makes the job difficult for teams of doctors and impossible for the layman like ourselves.
