Resorting to ad-hominem attacks? It doesn't help your argument, especially since it is baseless.
if you don't criticize this then by your action you are in fact approving of Bush making a diplomat out of a man who most Freepers believe to be a RAPIST, TRAITOR and MURDERER
If you refer back to my post #247, you will see that I did express criticism of Bush's decision. I called it a mixed bag, and listed both the positive and negative ramifications. If it was up to me, both Bill and Hillary would be wearing orange jumpsuits making small rocks out of big rocks, but that is not in my power to do. I wouldn't send him to East Timor, either, but there are worse places for him, so I will let this be.
As immaterial as East Timor is to the situation at hand right now, I think that sending x42 there is EXACTLY what Bush is saying. To me it goes under the heading of "keep you friends close, and your enemies closer"!
This must be shocking for some.

"My concern about the role of the federal government is that an intrusive government, a government that says, Dont worry, we will solve your problems is a government that tends to crowd compassion out of the marketplace, that too often in the past people said: Somebody else will take care of the problem in my area. Dont worry. The government is here. "

No kidding?
It surely started some time ago. The continued facilitation of the process and goal of totalitarianism by the pimps of slavery only require the continued election of whores to promote their Marxist agenda and ultimate outcome. However, since help is on the way, we can take comfort in the fact that there are hardly any laws being passed, and, the laws are obeyed, while maintaining safety in the comfort and compassion of security and small government. Under these small government concepts, they will continue to utilize the quality and efficiency of the Department of Education, with the help of fellow travelers of justice, purity and decency. This education process by men and women of constitutional guidance and honorable past provides clear thinking and constitutional adherence to these continued principles. As long as we can keep these compassionate conservative constitutionalists, there's nothing to worry about, especially with protecting our right to bear arms. If they can continue to maintain the books within the red light district of Washington D.C., then, of course, small government will continue to lead the way for our alert citizens. Thomas Jefferson is smiling. We are so lucky.
Zzzzzzzz ....
(Given how positively GLEEFUL the Bush insiders were when things began popping in May, 1999, I strongly suspect they're actually rubbing his face in something ... I'm just not sure what.)
Now, if you want a laugh, look at David Limbaugh's Clinton's wish list if Republicans hadn't thwarted much of Clinton's wish list from here. Looks like a George W. template.
If you can't work within and change a political party, how do you propose to change the whole country?
Bubba Bush is a master of pandering.
Didn't Danforth already do that under cover of "Election Crisis"?
I think so too. I also think they had better only do this in Paris, and not try it in the rest of France.
Parisian women will be forcibly converted to Islam and wear the hijab instead of Yves St. Laurent and Chanel.
Again, maybe in Paris, but I've been told to not judge Frenchmen and Frenchwomen by the nutcases who live in Paris. If they try this crap out in the French countryside, you can look for a return of the Crusades, and Muslims will be hanging from the trees.
20% of those living in France were not born there, and roiling ghettos of angry Algerians surround Paris.
The flip side of this is that it means 80% WERE born there. I'm not saying this isn't the "wave of the near future (50 years,or so),but for right now the native French have the odds on their side.
The poor, unarmed, helpless, feminized European men won't be able to look at women *then*.
Oh well,I guess I will have to apply for a gooberment grant so I can go over there and do fulfill this vital role for the Frenchmen.(sigh) It's a dirty and thankless job with no potential reward other than hundreds of naked Frenchwomen, but somebody has to do it.
While you're at it, take along a bar of soap and some deoderant and wash 'em up and spray 'em down. They make great perfumes for a reason, you know.
I recall that Reagan was quite gracious. He made sure the Kennedy family was given an honor denied by Carter. It meant a lot to the Kennedy clan and it didn't hurt Reagan at all. I don't think anything of the Kennedy family, but I admired Reagan's graciousness. And after all, who was more effective as a leader, the spiteful Carter or the kindly Reagan? I don't recall Carter ever vowing to whip someone's ass, as Carter did. However, he did kick the tuckus of the liberals "from sea to shining sea," as Mark Steyn so eloquently expressed it.
