WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Despite initial steps, Saudi Arabia continues to tolerate the transfer of finances to Al Qaida insurgents.
U.S. intelligence sources said Saudi princes are believed to be funding the flight of Al Qaida agents from Afghanistan to the Persian Gulf and Middle East. They said the princes have paid millions of dollars for the escape of hundreds of Al Qaida and Taliban members from Afghanistan through Iran and to the Persian Gulf. Many of those who fled Afghanistan, the sources said, are Saudis or those who had been sponsored by the House of Saud.
The Al Qaida agents, the sources said, have resettled in such countries as Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Others have moved to Lebanon and Syria.
"The Saudis have acted when we have pointed to specific information on a specific group," an intelligence source said. "Otherwise, the money flow to Al Qaida continues from members of the royal family."
Until we get serious about cutting off the life blood which operates this Medusa, we are just pissing in the wind.
The American people know this.
The Saudi's think we are stupid because Clinton showed them that he had no heart for terrorism and world affairs.
They are going to lose BIG, unless these they really understand this.
Roll into Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia killing every single one of their military and government people, as well as public hangings of all the money launderers and oil barons who helped sponsor Al-Quaeda. Then we turn their little countries into parking lots, and start pumping oil. Take all we want, and dump the rest over the land and set fire to it. You can tell I'm a bit angry here, but that seems to be the only way to get the point across anymore with people. You can't tap them on the shoulder and say Excuse Me, you have to nail them with a sledgehammer to get their attention. These Islamic extremists only understand one thing, and that's Extreme violence. I say we barbecue all of them, and leave their rotting corpses for the vultures. That's the point we need to get them to understand, is that if you screw with Americans, we will wipe you out.

Good post, but I think this strengthens the "barbecue" them position. First we fund them to fight soviets, then they turn on us like rabid dogs. I can smell the barbecue sauce.
