"At each level you increase your carb intake...up to the point where they add to weight gain. I eat fruit, a few potatoes and I even have an occaisonal helping of pasta. I'll have a beer at the ballpark. But I'll never go back to my old way of eating..ever."
Exactly. I now eat half a grapefruit or an orange every morning. Also a large amount of veggies. I even have a pizza or equivalent once a week, and have kept the 80 pounds off for 2 years.

I just got a Brittany dog and we did a 12 mile run together last weekend. How romantic.
LOL, not to mention that it's very bad for a dog to run twelve miles. (not to mention a human being)
I have run twelve miles, in my life.

10-4 on that, I had read that finasol was pretty good & fairly easy to access. Being a great big guy I must admit that I hate pull ups, I can bench over 400 lbs (naturally) but pull ups of my 290 lb body is a pain in the @ss & my arms.

I Bench a little better than 300, at 200lbs, but for some reason if I push the pullups, I hurt the elbow. I think tendency to tendonitis, plus deterioration of form.

They have some supplements especially for Joint problems, Jointritus & Glucosomine are 2 of the products that I have read & heard people talking about. I have a friend of mine that has bad knee joints & he was big on the Glucosomine.

...I usually have a bowl of oats and a tin of King Oscar sardines packed in olive oil with garlic..Truly the breakfast of champions.

Yah, the carbo heavy "Gymrat" diets are just as bad if not worse for some people. There is truth to the Carbo-insuline thing. I read his book, and cut out soluable starches and processed suger and felt fine and lost 15lbs in 3 months.
Then I met my skinny little, eat anything she wants, fiance...who loves to cook...

At the beginning of last year I was hitting the free weights hard, my son was a junior in high school & I was working out with him & his friends on occasion. Man my bench was skyrocketing I pumped up to 425 with no problem, but my head got to big & I tried 450 & ripped my bicep and something in my shoulder. It didn't really hurt at first it was just tight & it didn't feel right, the next morning when I got up I couldn't hold a cup of Coffeee or even get my wallet out of my back pocket. Anyway I ended up having to get Cortisol shots in my bicep & a cortizone shots in my shoulder.
That injury kept me from lifting for almost 6 months, it was a hell of a thing to get over and still bothers me to this day. Anyway I've been back after it for about 6-8 months and my strength is almost back to the point at which I hurt myself. Anyway during that timeframe I tried many things so whatever works for you to get you back in groove is O.K. with me, so I wouldn't laugh at anything you tried just so long as you stay with it.

They eat mostly rice and vegetables and meat is only as a condiment.I'd be more precise and say that Asians eat a lot of rice, a lot of vegetables and fruits, and a lot of eggs, fish, pork, and chicken.
Snacks are fruits, small rice cakes, rice crackers, dried fish.
I've never been healthier than 1 1/2 years living in SE Asia.

**A couple of years ago, I simply started eating better and basically stick to a Mediterannean-style diet which is heavy on fish, veggies, rice, pasta, olive oil (instead of butter), garlic, breads, beer and wine. Basically all the stuff that Atkins tells you not to eat. Since then, I feel great and my weight has been under control ever since. As well, my blood cholesterol dropped from 240 to 186 and all my blood sugars are normal and my blood pressure and stress is greatly reduced. I am no longer a heart attack risk as I was when I was on the Atkins diet.**
Bingo.
I was raised on a Mediterranean way of eating and know it works. I'm not much of a meat eater so the Atkins Diet wouldn't have worked for me. I enjoy my extra virgin olive oil and pine nuts and pasta. :o) And it's better for me.
