Slick Gun Control Laws
Gulf1 ^ | 12/12/02 | Ed Anthony

There are some slick moves being made against our second amendment rights to own and bear firearms. It is a shame that dignified, law abiding citizens using guns appropriately for several generations have to be harassed by some socialist scatterbrain who is turning every crisis into another reason to take away their right to own firearms.

I'll just give you the quick study. Governor Roy Barns, Georgia, tried to push through SB 385. This is a bill about bio-terror that in effect would allow the Governor to declare statewide emergency gun control measures if there is a public health emergency.

As soon as the emergency is declared, then the Governor can ban all gun sales and dispatch the police to confiscate your guns at roadblocks and other so called checkpoints on the roads and highways. Our forefathers called it illegal search and seizure.

Even low-level anthrax scares and lone acts of terrorism would be an excuse to "start the round up" of all legally owned guns. Legal guns are the only guns that will be confiscated. The criminals have their guns unregistered and hidden. The real stupidity is, "If there is a large scale attack, this is the very time that we will need our guns to defend our nation and families."

The only reason the United States of America, even with all it's unmanned, un-patrolled borders, has never been invaded is because we have always had combat veterans with personal firearms and access to anything they need to purchase. Over three hundred thousand combat veteran Non Commissioned Officers from Vietnam alone who would be able to train and lead their neighbors in resistance against a foreign invader. At a time of the greatest urgency, the Socialist Democrats want us to disarm. Where is your head?

S. 1555 from Dianne Feinstein (D. CA.) would give away our constitutional rights in favor of U.N. gun control. Don't you look forward to that? I'm sure our rivers will not be flowing red with the blood and bodies of freedom loving peoples like there were in Africa every time the U.N took control. "Gun confiscation will stop violence the same way nailing the toilet door shut will stop diarrhea."

HR 3013 Rep. Corrine Brown (D. FL) Gives power to one un-elected government official to ban firearm possession around any waterway in America No hunting allowed.

How do feel about those Representatives and Senators who voted for "Campaign finance reform" legislation, which places a federal gag order on NRA communications in September and October of every election year? This singles out a voice of opposition. Could this be done against the Tobacco or Hard liquor lobbyist? Do you think this gag order would hold up against abortion rights groups or the lobbyist for any of the big Oil or Pharmaceuticals companies? Then it shouldn't hold up against the NRA either.

"The day that they come get your guns, is just one day before they use them on you!"

Governor Roy Barns and SB 385 plays right into the hands of terrorists and other criminals, they will be the only ones with guns! Georgia's only emergency is their existing legislators and Georgia anti-gun nuts. Vote them out of office and stop this bill from ever seeing the light of day.

An armed populace keeps a potentially tyrannical government in check. Governments fear armed revolt. If people are unarmed, they can't have an armed revolt. Once the guns are gone, look towards the future when people are turned on one another in order to keep things stirred up. It's a way to keep people from seeing how oppressed they are. This is right out of Mein Kampf, and the Communist Manifesto.

It is a fact that if it weren't for the NRA's efforts in the 2000 election Gore would have beaten Bush. So where is Bush when we need him? AWOL.

I'm sure our rivers will not be flowing red with the blood and bodies of freedom loving peoples like there were in Africa every time the U.N took control.

If the UN comes in here and tries to institute gun control the rivers will flow red - with the blood of foreign invaders. Blue helmets make good targets.

When the government is afraid of the People, there is liberty.

When the People are afraid of the government, there is tyranny.

Every member of each family should have a bug-out kit - including a common caliber handgun and rifle and a 12 G. shotgun with "ample" ammo for each. We do face the real risk of mandatory evecuation, or possibily worse, "evacuation in place", aka quarrantine where you stay where you are when the order comes down. Theft and rape go with the law of the jungle. (It ain't no rain forest.) Think of the photo-ops for politician shepherds, backed by the police power of the state, while they promise safety for those sheeple in the herd. Trainloads of good but foolish souls have been shipped to eternity on those promises.

Political elite will want to stay safe so that means disarming citizens to reduce the competition for "safety". That ignors reality and our Constitution, but we already know who our domestic enemies are.

Arm now, BLOAT, and practice. Surivial is deadly serious.

Like Claire says, it's too late to fix the system and too early to start shooting the bastards. The anti-gunners are like the ocean throwing wave after wave against the beach. They will never stop.

And, when the guns are confiscated from all Law-abiding citizens, who will defend our nation?
Can we really count on our government agencies to defend us?
Especially if they are told to "stand down" by our own Socialist government?

Hopefully the country's Armed Criminal element will come to the aid of our nation.
Wouldn't it be ironic if Armed Felons were responsible for saving our nation?

So do the math. How many cops total in your state plus how many National Guardsmen - and how many gun owners?

I'm willing to say it. If you are smart, you didn't give your Y2K-preparedness stuff to some charity "the day after." And, if you still have it, there is no way that the governor can confiscate anything from you nor herd you out of your home into some "quarantine" - because you can easily wait him out by just living at home for a month or two.

And that's even in the - doubtful - case that every officer in Georgia actually tries such a police state, rather than just call in sick or doing a lot of "defecting in place" by looking the other way.

And none of the above even requires violent rebellion to make gun confiscation by that route fail.

GUN REVIEWS free from ad-money bias - emphasizing woman-friendliness of tested guns!

The stupidest part of all of this is that the 9/11 attacks succeeded because our society has conditioned us to be passive in the face of evil. The passengers on those planes had a ten to one advantage in numbers. The terrorists had only crude, ineffective weapons. If the passengers had counterattacked immediately, only a few people would have died that day. I'm not blaming the passengers. They did what they have been taught is right. I'm blaming our society for the attitude that we should all be passive in the face of evil and always wait for "proper authorities" to exercise force in every situation.

If our elected officials really wanted to do something to discourage future terrorism, they would encourage every citizen to practice with guns, knives, or any other weapon that could be readily available when terrorists strike. They would learn the lesson that the terrorists struck a plane full of unarmed people and did not attack a country diner in the middle of Texas (or Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Montana, Arizona, Alabama, etc.) on the first day of deer season. If they had done that, the only controversy would be whether a turban would count as antlers.

I think it was a state representative named Stephanie Stuckey who introduced this legislation.

Actually, it would be rather commonplace.  What was the old traditional method for scooting on an offence, go to jail or join the Army/Marines/Navy/Air Force?  Now days if ya have anything much more than a parking ticket you are a condemned felon for LIFE, 2nd Amend. Rights unconsonstitutionally denied, rah, rah, rah.

America... according to the liberals and the "politically correct (communists)" is in a terminal circular pattern AKA in the toilet.

Time to grow some "hair."
