A Taliban promise is a post dated check, drawn on a crashing bank. (Apologies to Nehru.)

They'll never give 'im up. The Taliban are totally controlled by bin Laden; this is no secret.
Sure-fire sign that we're hurtin' 'em..........and hurtin' 'em badly.
To our military leaders: NOW is the time to pour on the coals. POUND 'em. HARD. NOW.

Give me a break! What little posse could the Tali girl scouts put together to capture Bin Laden? Besides, he's OUR prize, not theirs. Their "deal" will never happen.

NO NEGOTIATIONS! Are these idiots deaf as well as dumb? Hand the scuzbag over, along with his creeps, and then maybe we'll stop the bombs. Then, again, maybe we won't...

The Taliban was never our primary target, they were only the warm bodies we had to go through to get to al-Qaeda. Even Osama was not our only target, just one of many.I disagree. The lesson to governments has got to be that you do not make common cause with terrorists. Without government support or acquiescence most of this would not have been possible.

This offer will not be accepted. The President is a results-oriented person (very rare in politics) who has already said the prize comes first and then the bombing stops. He also has said "no negotiations" on this subject.
