CNN's Enten: "Trump Is Who The Voters Thought He Would Be," Has The Steadiest Favorability Rating On Record

CNN data guru Harry Enten analyzes the latest favorability and midterm polls on Tuesday's "CNN News Central" and said it would not be surprising if the Republicans maintained control of the House.

KATE BOLDUAN, CNN ANCHOR: So, from tariffs to immigration crackdowns, as the topic was just there, President Trump has spent the first eight months of his presidency making good on some of his campaign promises. So, what do voters think about it, and how could this impact midterm elections -- the midterm elections to come?

Harry Enten is crunching the numbers on this one. He's here with us now.

Harry, it's been almost one year since the election. How are voters feeling right now about the president?

HARRY ENTEN, CNN CHIEF DATA ANALYST: You know, sometimes I think it's worth taking that 35,000 vote view. And as far as the American people are concerned, Trump could be better known as steady Eddie.

What are we talking about here? Well, why don't we take a look here. Favorable view of Donald Trump. You know, you go back to October of 2024, 44 percent of the American public viewed him favorably. Now, despite everything, look at this, 43 percent, which is well within the margin of error of that 44 percent. And here's the thing to keep in mind. This was good enough to get Trump reelected back in 2024. And Donald Trump is basically at the same point here right now, which I think would surprise a lot of folks, especially a lot of folks on the left, who very much disagree with a lot of what Donald Trump has done.

BOLDUAN: Well, what do you see is underneath that and driving that? Why is he basically the same?

ENTEN: OK. You know, to quote the esteemed scholar (ph),...

The Border shutdown came at lightening speed......

He fought the Dems gallantly as 45....but they had the purse.

Illegals poured in....and actually changed the politics of the country when they were counted in the census. If the Dems couldn't make them citizens...they could at least get a few more seats in the house.

And yes....that's cheating.

The RATs are definitely putting up a stiff resistance. I doubt we will get anywhere near the 11+ million invaders tossed out. The RATs will , however, have many of their useful idiots tossed in jail for their troubles. ANTIFA might even go the way of the KKK when all is said and done.

Despite everything? Really? Trump is polling well because of his actions and policies, not despite them.

“And even causing some...like killing every damn chicken in sight....”

Since Trump’s been in office I don’t think there’s been a single barn fire that killed hundreds of thousands hogs, cattle, chickens. I wonder why that is?

“Now, despite everything...”

WTH is “despite everything”? People LOVE how he is almost single-handedly saving our Republic and restoring American greatness.

Despite WHAT exactly? I can’t think of a thing he’s done that I object to (except all that hideous gold in the Oval Office).

Maybe it’s “despite all the judges who think they are the chief executive”?

Well, maybe I do object a bit to him not moving QUICKER to wipe out antifa and the anti-ICE factions or moving QUICKER to deport 10 million illegals or moving QUICKER to drag the coupists through bloody hell. But those things were probably was impossible given the packed courts.

We are at $3.20 here in Upstate NY near Rochester. I would guess our taxes on gas are a lot higher here.
