(The Lion) — A well-regarded education watchdog has published a raft of alarming resolutions adopted by the National Education Association at its latest national assembly.
They include a measure that encourages resistance of federal immigration enforcement and another that mandates labeling President Donald Trump a fascist in all union materials.
Senior Fellow at the American Culture Project Corey DeAngelis obtained a copy of the NEA’s recently passed resolutions and posted them to X.
“I just received a copy of the National Education Association’s resolutions that they passed at their annual convention,” said DeAngelis. “They kept them private this year.”
It’s not the first time in recent years a teachers’ union has attempted to hide controversial resolutions passed by members.
In 2023, the Colorado Education Association was hammered after it was revealed they kept hidden pro-Marxist language in their resolutions when a whistleblower inside the organization leaked the documents to The Lion.
This year’s NEA Business Item Number 60, which indicated it was adopted, and subsequently leaked by a presumptive whistleblower to DeAngelis, states:
NEA pledges to defend democracy against Trump’s embrace of fascism by using the term facism [sic] in NEA materials to correctly characterize Donald Trump’s program and actions.
The members and material resources of NEA must be committed to the defense of the democratic and educational conditions required by our hopes for a just society and the survival of civilization itself by stating the truth.
Notably, the NEA resolution misspelled the word fascism, which some observers may find ironic in light of poor reading scores in public schools around the nation.
In other resolutions, the NEA called Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids to deport illegal aliens “kidnapping” and encouraged children to actively organize against law enforcement operations that the U.S. Supreme Court has declared lawful...

Isn’t this the kind of crime that RICO is intended to address?
Why do “teachers” make lousy teachers. Because they are union thugs. Down at the bottom of the food chain with lawyers and “judges”.
STOP FEDERAL SUPPORT FOR THE National DUMB DOWN Association
Less illegals = less students in schools = less govt money funding the indoctrination centers called “schools”. So of course the teacher’s union is against ICE.
OMG you are so right
KC
If they act, there could be a lot fewer teachers and professors in schools and collages this fall.
There are many fine teachers who despise the NEA but because of contract language have only two choices: Join the Union or be extorted for “fair share” which is the same amount or higher than the union dues.
That is essentially taxation without representation.
At least from the perspective of thinking people, but they have gotten away with it in plain view for decades.
Who among the readers here does not believe the NEA has been an active arm of the American Left for at least the past 60 years?
They need to be shiped out of the US
Let the hardworking Villegas stay
ROUND UP AND DEPORT ALL LEFTISTS.
Sounds like insurrection to me.
Not all public school teachers are members of the NEA. Some are members of the more radical AFT. But there are lots who are members of neither, especially as you get away from the big cities. And if I had to take a wild guess, students non-union teachers achieve better results than students ‘taught’ by union teachers.
It might pay a parent to ‘look for the union label’ when thinking of enrolling a student in a public school.
Never heard of the AFT. Thanks for that info FRiend.
AFT carries a lot of influence in NYC. They’re going to endorse Mamdani.
Stopped reading right there.
Radical leftists found out the schools were a paradise for them decades ago. Decent living, summers off, great pensions and the ears of impressionable young people.
Insufferable? They’re much worse than that. They are radically indoctrinated Marxists dedicated to the eradication of our Constitutional Republic by the indoctrination of our children. Parents who care about the welfare of their children should be demanding that government at all levels enact legislation that criminalizes any teaching that serves to undermine any provision of the U.S. Constitution.
Imagine being an education association and not even knowing what fascism is. These people are truly the blind leading the blind.
In other news, College educated educators, do not know the meaning of the term FASCIST.
I thought Federal funds for schools were being cut from Federal budgets.
