A terrorized Bronx woman has armed herself with a pair of pit bulls in a desperate effort to defend herself from an unhinged career criminal who keeps breaking into her home — but remains on the streets.
Beauty salon owner Itesha Hairston said she’s petrified that 33-year-old Jarrell Coburn is stalking her after the vagrant broke into her home three times in under 10 days last month, but keeps getting a slap on the wrist due to a soft-on-crime court system that won’t lock him up.
In fact, Coburn, who has at least nine unsealed busts on his rap sheet, tried to bust in again on April 9 — just nine days after he was last nabbed inside her Longwood ground-floor apartment.
“He really think this is his apartment,” Hairston, 47, told The Post. “He really thinks he lives here. This guy is very, very dangerous. He just won’t stop. The guy won’t stop. I don’t know this guy from anywhere.
“Something’s really wrong with this dude,” she added. “That’s why I got my sister’s dogs. The law won’t do anything to protect me. I’ve got to be protected somehow.”
Coburn, whose past arrests include charges that he assaulted and spat on NYPD cops, has five open cases in the Bronx, including three for allegedly breaking into Hairston’s apartment.

Two days later, he was allegedly back at Hairston’s apartment.
“I unlock my door and there he is,” she recalled. “He goes, ‘Get the f–k out of here! This is my apartment,’ and slammed the door. He almost cut my fingers off.
“I just ran and I called the cops and they blocked every exit that he could run out of and had to knock the door down to get him and arrest him,” Hairston said.

This lady doesn’t need a pit bull. She needs a bull dog. A bull dog 44 cal.
A Rossi RP63 in .357 magnum would be a lot less maintenance and trouble.
Better than pit bulls would be any type of weapon. But she should realize that whether she shoots him or her dogs rip him up....
She will be arrested and charged.
A pan of hot grease in the face will break him from these bad habits.
It is New York City. She can’t walk into the local gun superstore and buy a pistol.
In NYC you are probably right. Most red states you’ll be detained (I consider that arrested), questioned, maybe you are released for self-defense or charged. Most importantly, keep your mouth shut until your lawyer arrives, no matter what. If you say anything. “I was in fear for my life”. Period.
PS. No follow up shots to finish off the attacker. Stop shooting when the threat is stopped. If you carry. Get a lawyer on speed dial and hope he’s never needed. IMO

When he comes by and starts pounding on the door, you attach 120 volts to the door handle. When hes dead you disconnect.
He was so worked up and pounding on everything, he must have had a heart attack.
If you have a dog and it attacks and mauls a person but doesn’t kill it. They put the dog down and you are charged. Plus the it is still alive. It might be with a gun but at least you don’t get your dog killed. Besides I sometimes forget where I put my phone. It might bleed out before I can dial 911.
The only way the doorknob trick works Is one lead to the knob and one to a door mat outside the door. If it doesn’t just shock the idiot and make him madder. I’ve been shocked by 120v and it’s not always fatal. Obviously. Plus that method is harder to hide forensicly. Shooting it and a good lawyer is a better way. IMO

I have a Mosseburg 500 that I got from dad when I was 16. A 20 ga. That was given to me 57 years ago. Since then I’ve gotten 2 more. Another 20 and a twelve with crimson trace. They aren’t flashy or expensive. They just function realiably. But having an apartment in NYC , I believe they would be a little unwieldy. A lady might be better served with a S&W MP 9EZ. My wife is 70 and handles it very well, she can run the shotguns to but I’m thinking utility. I hope that lady gets things sorted out. I carry to defend myself. I shoot at the range for fun. I have an FFL because we all have a right to defend ourselves. Be safe. Regards

I guess I love shotguns. I was taught by very artistic shooters.I can drop a clay at 100 yards with my 10 ga. using #2 shot.
She needs to get herself a real Judge and rotate the loads in in the cylinder. .45 Colt, .410 Ga. Defender, .45 Colt, .410 Ga. Defender, and so on.
