CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour has sparked outrage as she insisted that Iran does not want conflict at the exact moment the nation was raining missiles on Israel.
The British-Iranian journalist claimed live on air that the Islamic Republic does not want its conflict with Israel to 'escalate,' and suggested the Jewish state is to blame for Tuesday's attack.
'Nobody, nobody, not the Lebanese nor the Iranians want this to escalate even further. Iran does not want an Israeli or a U.S. war against it. It is unlikely to be able to resist that, it does not want it,' Amanpour told Dana Bash.
'The Iranian foreign minister told me in New York during the United Nations that they were showing restraint and that Hezbollah was showing restraint as well, and that it wanted, you know, to de-escalate all of this... That was the word also from the podium at the United Nations by the Iranian president.'
Just minutes before Amanpour's statements, her colleague Jim Sciutto was forced to abandon his position on a roof in Tel Aviv as the missiles got closer.
Amanpour went on to say Iran 'felt it had no choice' but to strike Israel after the Jewish state conducted assassinations of Hezbollah members in Lebanon.
'Now, Hezbollah is not there, you know, Iran is not there to protect Hezbollah. It’s the opposite,' she said.
'Hezbollah is meant to be the frontline troops of Iran. So this response from Iran is more likely because it feels it has been left no choice.'

Christiane Amanpour is Iranian and has always been favorable toward them. During Iraq war her reporting was sooo biased that they kicked CNN out of reporting from Iraq.
Maybe she’s auditioning for a job at the Bee.

She brought the ‘media’ to the term “media whore”. Loved how she was vaguely disguised as such in the movie “Three Kings”.
PBS/CBS thinks she walks on water.
From what I saw, it was a mostly peaceful missile barrage.
So I’m not sure what the problem is?
She is a total Soros girl.
Iran, after having its arms, legs and testcles severed, stated through U.S. media mouthpieces that they did not want further escalation of the conflict.
It actually looks like everyone wants this war. Iran doesn’t have the capabilities to inflict major damage in Israel. In my opinion the threat is overblown. If it were my country and my neighborhood where they were lauching missles I’d probably be in for the war but from a global perspective Iran can’t come anywhere near being an exetential threat to Israel. Israel seems to be miles ahead of them.
She has always seemed more comfy around mullahs than cockneys, but maybe that's just me.
They had a choice. They chose poorly.

Vice president and Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris has set an impressive bar for word salad.
But in one recent, exceptional statement, she was crystal-clear in her ignorance:
Vice President Kamala Harris declared on a debate stage in Philadelphia that “As of today, there is not one member of the United States military who is in active duty in a combat zone in any war zone around the world, the first time this century.”
In addition to ignoring U.S. troops offshore serving in combat situations, she and her MSM cheering squad have overlooked the most direct threat from a nation-state on American soil since the attack on Pearl Harbor.
But finally, the truth will out.
Even NBC and many other mainstream domestic and international news organizations have now reported on the state of Iran having an ongoing attempt to try and kill our former president and commander-in-chief, Donald Trump.
Top U.S. intelligence officials briefed former President Donald Trump on Tuesday about threats from Iran to assassinate him, a Trump campaign spokesperson said.
“President Trump was briefed earlier today by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence regarding real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States,” spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement.
Iran is now trying to make a direct attack on U.S. soil. Such a move transcends state-sponsored terrorism: Iran has crossed a threshold and is committing an act of war.
