SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) — Wednesday evening in Springfield, community members gathered in peaceful protest of the false claims about Haitians.
On Park Road in Springfield, there was a parade of residents showing that hate has no home in the city. Signs displayed messages to the Haitian community that they have support.
“Especially us as Haitians… we need unity here. We need a Springfield united. So this sends out a big message. For those who have been spreading false information, now they can see we are not bad people,” said Jacob Payen, Haitian Community Alliance spokesperson.
That support is reaching the Haitian community directly. Less than ten minutes from Park Road, you will find Rose Goute Creole Restaurant. The Haitian restaurant has been packed with patrons, all to show support in the face of uncertainty.
“We just wanted to come down and support the Haitian restaurant and the Haitian people,” said Columbus resident Bethany Fleisher.
Springfield YMCA getting $343K renovation “We drove over here to show our solidarity with the Haitian community here,” said Columbus resident Jack Decker.
“If we can support them in any way, and kind of push back against the people who are obstructing them, then that’s a good reason to come,” said Yellow Springs resident David Hergesheimer.

I saw no evidence of general community support. The only community represented was haitian and a bunch of bleeding heart outsiders.

When it serves the Left, journalists like to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the meaning of the word "community."
They will, for instance, write of the "gay community" - meaning all homosexuals on the planet.
Unless preceded by the word "local," it's meaningless.

As of 2023, the Martha’s Vineyard year-round population was 20,530. The summer population swells to more than 200,000 people. About 56 percent of the Vineyard’s 14,621 homes are seasonally occupied.
Martha’s Vineyard could easily absorb 20,000 Haitians.
I would like to see an article based on OP’s article, but with Martha’s Vinyard “community members” (from out of town) demanding Haitians be sent to Martha’s Vineyard.
There are bleeding heart liberals here in NH who still have Black Lives Matter yards signs in their front yards.
And just until about a year ago, were holding a support rally for BLM and whining about *white terrorism* in a different local community on a weekly basis. Don’t know if they are still doing it.
NH has lots of Trump Supporters and *Live Free or Die* types, but also too many VT influenced liberal whacko’s.
If you read the comments on the youtube videos, they almost all think like we do. However, the media says it is debunked, lies, etc.
