Chris Hayes called the Electoral College “a wildly dangerous institution that undermines democracy'
MSNBC host Chris Hayes fumed over new poll results showing former President Trump as the favorite to win the Electoral College and therefore the presidency in November.
On his X account Friday, the "All in With Chris Hayes" anchor blasted recent poll results from famed pollster Nate Silver showing that Harris would most likely beat Trump in the national popular vote if the election were held today, though Trump would win the Electoral College.
"It’s clear as day the Electoral College is, to quote the great Justice Jackson a national suicide pact," Hayes posted.

Using the “popular vote” would result in a kind of arms race of fraud between the most partisan states. For ultimately, each state decides its totals.
Americans did not directly vote for senators for the first 125 years of the Federal Government. The Constitution, as it was adopted in 1788, stated that senators would be elected by state legislatures.
“..It’s fun when liberals are upset....”
They’re alway “upset” about something.
They’re miserable people that want to rule over everybody else’s life and make them miserable too.
Ha! MSNBC undermines democracy!
There is so very much he knows that isn’t true.
I’m quite sure Chris Hayes was fine with the Electoral College when Bill Clinton won the presidency with just 43% of the popular vote.
Was a grand institution then (just 32 years ago).
But Clinton won a majority of the people in a majority of the states. And that’s how it works.
We don’t need presidents selected just by the population centers. The same principle now as it was in 1787.
When something goes Libs’ way it’s GREAT! When something doesn’t it’s BAD and must be CHANGED NOW!
America was founded as a Constitutional republic.
Don’t say it's semantics either as that's a lie.
The Constitution is the very thing that set up our
representation in Article 1, Sections 2 and 3.
Yes that evil Electoral College, which has worked for over 200 years. It undermines democracy! Sheesh.
Who?
Hayes obviously doesn't understand that the US is not a Democracy, it's a Republic. Two wolves and a lamb voting for the dinner selection is a democracy. A republic puts necessary constraints on that.
So he is an insurrectionist now?
Hey Chris.
We are a Constitutional Republic!
Not a democracy.

Robert Jackson.
Chris is a City States man.
For America to be America, the City States must first be destroyed. The electoral college is the only non kinetic barrier to the permanent tyranny of the City States
democracy, thier democracy
Some of you still don’t understand. When someone reacts like that to a tried and true process of fair representation in our Republic, they WILL kill you for disagreeing. When the killing starts, if you have the opportunity at all, come back to this comment you made that it’s fun to see them upset. We are headed for civil war or at least one-sided killing over a complete lack of values in this country. I have NEVER seen it as bad as this in all of my years nor read about it being THIS bad in our history as it relates to what is about to happen. I don’t find anything about this to be funny.
M$NBC hosts say whatever Comcast tells them to say.
