Special counsel Jack Smith has charged former President Donald Trump in a superseding indictment in his federal election interference case.
"Today, a federal grand jury in the District of Columbia returned a superseding indictment, ECF No. 226, charging the defendant with the same c, riminal offenses that were charged in the original indictment," a Justice Department spokesperson said Tuesday.

This will backfire, but they are too stupid (too hell bent on getting Trump) to see that.
Normal legal protections do not apply to President Trump.
When he gets in office, there need to be bus loads of firings.
Grasping at straws
Firings? Imprisonment!
He is scared stiff about what’s going to happen to him when Trump is elected!
When Trump gets in, his first act should be to fire a Davy Crockett into the DOJ.
They want to talk about this and not the economy or the border.
Of course if Trump loses, Merchan will probably sentence him to prison.
This is a different case than Florida’s.
The Florida case was about the classified docs.
This isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The left just keeps trying, but the rest of us just keep becoming even more resolute.
This is the kind of crap that leads to a civil war.
Some lawyer explain to me what ‘superseding indictment’ means? Its the talking point in all the articles and news. Yet the indictment is just a rewording of the original indictment minus mention of DoJ. Is this something we can all just laugh at? It seems a legal joke, a bad one, but a joke nonetheless.
JudgeCannon holds no authority in the DC Courtroom. To my knowledge, Trump has not raised the illegal appointment issue in the DC case yet.
They wish but they also want to bait the Supreme Court in for a pre-election ruling to continue demonization of the USSC.
Neither are their voters.
We have a real problem here and it’s going to take everyone to fix.
Except me, I got a bum knee.
Meanwhile, the GOP sits on their butt and keeps funding this.
Correct, but she tossed the classified documents case based on improper special counsel appointment. So is there now there is precedent to raise that issue to USSC? Wait, it came from USSC, didn't it? Its so confusing !!!!! FR Lawyers, please explain! LOL.
The more it looks like Trump may win the crazier those liberals get. But I have a feeling that we have not seen half of it. I just hope they are not going to try another hit and if they did it wouldn’t come as a surprise.
I thought Smith was appointed illegally?
Yes indeed...
Bear in mind that, initially, only 3-to-5 percent of the colonists supported throwing off the yoke of tyranny...
The tyranny of the 1770s paled in significance compared to that of today...
