A leading Democratic strategist has warned his party that Donald Trump's polling numbers could be misleading and they should not take them for granted.
James Carville, who rose to prominence for helping Bill Clinton to the White House in 1992, said that Trump traditionally under polls, which should worry his party.
Speaking on Bill Maher's Real Time, Carville said: 'I tell Democrats, some caution here. First of all most quants [quantitative analysts] say we have to win by three in the popular vote.

Except Trump is not behind in the polls.
If I am contacted by a pollster I’m all in for Harris. I love communism, open borders, and transgender surgeries for my 3 year old!
A pollster calls you house. He knows your name, your phone number, your address, and political affiliation. He is tracking your data using a unique identification number (SSN?).
He is going to take your opinion and report it to hardened political operatives who destroy people like you for a living.
You don’t know anything about this guy. You don’t even know if it is a real poll. It could just be a political campaign.
Are you going to tell this unknown person that you support Orange Hitler? Do you like pain? Do you want to have your life ruined?
No. You hang up the phone.
In accordance with the truths you post, isn’t it amazing that the “polls” are showing a near dead heat? That’s a lot of support.
You know how to tell if an election is rigged? The candidate phones it in. Obama did it in 2008 and 2012, Biden did it in 2020, and Harris hasn’t lifted a finger to do the work.
I read the whole article and what set me off as a woman was Carville calling MTG “white trash.”
I, too, know white trash when I see it, and I am looking at you, Carville.
Also, why does Comrade Kamala get a pass for a flamboyant nasty affair with a married man, yet someone else gets so much disrespect?
Someone calls on texts and asks who I’m going to vote for - no way I’m going to answer. It could be someone looking for someone to dox, it could be someone looking for someone to SWAT. I certainly won’t put up a yard sign or bumper sticker. Not worth the risk of vandalism, violence, or official harassment.
I haven’t gotten any code violation notices since I quit putting out religious symbols at Christmas and Easter; No telling what the city or my neighbors would do if I put out a Trump sign
No upside to answering those questions.
What is being left unsaid is that compared to 2016 and 2020, Trump is in good shape in the polls, even the one’s where he is down.
This why Trump WINS.

RCP tracks 14 polls. Trump is leading in only 4 of those.
‘Push polls’ is right. I can’t remember who said it, but the paraphrase “All polls you hear about are meant to influence, not reflect, opinion” has proven true.
The message between the lines is ALWAYS “You’re losing, ha ha ha, you can’t win, don’t even try” etc. They are always meant to demoralize and cast dread on the Right.
That’s the truth!
I registered as an independent. We live in a Blue city. I did it for my safety. Being a Republican is like painting a target on my back.
Harris’s poll numbers aren’t about the election it’s the medias numbers about her act on one.
The media has great love for low down trashy people it’s what makes them democrats.
Carville and Axelrod are professionals who have led winning campaigns while NOT stealing the outcome, although I’m sure votes were stolen.
They understand that a candidate runs to the middle in a general election.
Obama never embraced gay marriage until after he was elected which was dishonest but it was winning politics.
Crooked Hilary lost for a lot of reasons but she might not have lost had she not chosen a DEI hire as campaign manager and had a Carville or an Axelrod running her campaign.
Carville and Axelrod are not going to come out and trash Kamala publicly, they are if anything loyal Democrats.
There are not TREACHEROUS Republicans who have a former losing campaign manager like Steve Schmidt come out and openly trash the nominee.
Carville KNOWS the truth of just how badly the Komrade Kammy campaign is being run as does any seasoned professional remaining in the Democrat Party does.
I despise Carville.
He’d do anything to get a Democrat elected.
But in this case he ain’t out there pretending Komrade Kammy is running a winning campaign.
That’s what (so far) allows me to sleep at night.
I used to scoff at polls showing the likes of Biden and even Obama with a lead.
Then Election Day arrived.
There may, indeed, be push-polls, but it should never be forgotten that there are an awful lot of ignorant, brain-washed people out there.
And they vote.
Lots of his supporters won’t even answer the phone.

NO people just do want to tell pollsters anything
there is no reason for early voting starting in Sept two weeks before the election maybe, but two full months before NO, and HELL NO.
Low poll numbers are actually a good thing.
