Local police encountered attempted-assassin Thomas Crooks just moments before he tried to kill former president Donald Trump — but failed to stop the gunman despite the clear threat, according to a report.
After rallygoers spotted Crooks on the roof of a manufacturing plant just 130 yards from the stage where Trump was speaking just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, police were notified and one officer climbed a ladder to investigate, law enforcement officials said on the condition of anonymity.
There the officer encountered Crooks, who pointed his AR-style rifle at them.
The officer then backed down the ladder, and Crooks immediately took aim and loosed eight shots at the former president – grazing him in the ear, killing one bystander in the rally crowd, and gravely wounding two others.

I agree, the USSS agents on the ground did what they were trained to do and did it expeditiously. The Suits? incident Command? I have my serious doubts.

And here I must respectfully disagree. This is a chat site, and not a jury room. So speculation should be okay. It’s the give and take of polite conversation.
But there’s another problem. You can bet the FBI and their Deep State associates will do their very best to suppress the facts here. So waiting for the facts might mean an infinite wait.
Any truth might only appear on sites like this.

Somewhere, I read/heard/saw that this killer was terminated in 10 seconds after his first shot was fired.
.......my daughter is about her size and about the same age and I was thinking watching her doing her “duty” how proud her father must be.
I wish women were not put out on the streets and put in the line of fire like this one but, by golly, she was doing her job while shots were being fired and people were dying and she should be commended not villified.

No peace of mind UNTIL Nancy Pelosi in particular, Maxine Waters and Chuck Schumer are arrested for threats and/or inciting violence from all of the things they have said. Not arresting them is an unforgiveable failure. Period.

The Garrison trial had some dead ends but also some interesting new leads.
The 1976 House of Representatives investigation provided a lot of information about the CIA’s involvement but they were sabotaged by Deep State insiders at various points.
The deathbed confession of E. Howard Hunt to his son St. John Hunt named names and nailed down some other loose ends.
There have also been some excellent books of LBJ’s involvement as well—Roger Stone’s book is the best imho.
Document releases in the last few years have provided a lot of other interesting details.
Most Freepers (and most Americans) are not familiar with most of these details.
Sometimes you can kill a story by pushing a false narrative over and over for decades and just hope folks lose interest.

This happened about 10 miles from my house.
Even just a pistol shot in the air out of harms way from the ‘officer’ would have alerted SS counter-sniper teams. This really smacks of Uvalde-level bravery here.

Based on the story a cop went up a ladder, saw the shooter, the shooter pointed a gun at the cop and the cop backed down, the shooter started shooting.
Analyze that. Who saw the cop go up the ladder? Who saw the cop see the shooter and the shooter point the gun at the cop who in turn went back down the ladder? Seems to me that person must have been in a position to see the shooter on the roof and see the cop going up the ladder...think about that.
If the shooter, laying on a roof with a gun did in fact point the gun at a cop coming up a ladder, the obvious response from the cop, unless his gun was drawn, in hand and he was expecting a shooter he’d back down immediately to cover his ass and assess the situation and or draw his gun to engage.
The story states he backed down, the shooter started shooting towards Trump, SS took him out.
I prefer to know what happened, how it happened and why.
You use Uvalde.. there were some chicken shxt cops no doubt but 400 were? That was a leadership/training issue. You can bet probably 375 cops didn’t have a clue what was going on.
As for the shooter’s position at Trump’s rally not being cleared and secured by SS was incompetence ev5if the responsibility was given to state and local it’s the SS responsibility to ensure it was.
