Kamala Harris’s team is concerned that Democrats will install a white candidate ahead of her to replace Joe Biden, arguing that it would be “offensive” to black voters to overlook her should the president stand aside.
Mr Biden is facing calls to step back from the race over concerns about his age, after a disastrous television debate performance against Donald Trump on Thursday.
The Biden campaign, which is a joint ticket between the US president and Ms Harris, has dismissed calls for him to step aside for a younger candidate.
However, allies of Ms Harris are frustrated that she has largely been excluded from the list of possible replacements, arguing that it would be “offensive” to overlook a black woman for the job.
Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer, the Democratic governors of California and Michigan, have so far been at the centre of speculation about a replacement nominee.
“The fact that people keep coming back to this is so offensive to so many of us,” an ally of Ms Harris told Politico.
“They still don’t get that the message you’re saying to people, to this Democratic Party, is, we prefer a white person.”
Another source added: “If they think they are going to get through South Carolina bashing an effective and qualified black woman vice president — their instincts are as bad as I thought they were.”
Ms Harris’s team has pointed out that her race may allow her to appeal to black voters – a core demographic for the Democrats that has begun to shift away from Mr Biden in recent months.
Data from the Pew Research centre shows 77 per cent of black voters say they are leaning towards voting for Mr Biden in November, down from 93 per cent that supported him in 2020.

I doubt she would take that. But maybe a Supreme Court appointment while the Dem’s still control the Senate.

Look for dirt (likely financial) to be ‘leaked’ (Deep State hit pieces usually drop in NYT or WaPo) on Kamala to push her out of the way.
They’ll offer her the usual payoffs — ‘book deal’ bribe, etc. — with the threat of jail for her and/or her husband if they don’t play ball.
Joe is going to be more difficult for them to dislodge.
MY BOLD PREDICTION:
Look for a Dem inner coup (think Soviet style) of the 25th Amendment being used.
Of course, there are also pinprick insta-heart attack drugs they could use but that’d involve an autopsy, which Jill has likely already told them she’d have done.
I think the deal offered will be:
Pardon for Hunter for his many crimes. Possibly pardon Joe’s brother who was a key to all the schemes as well.
x millions of dollars — book deals, cash, whatever.
Joe gets to pick his successor they’ll install.
They can’t let it go on like this.
Remember, Joe was losing to Bernie. It took Carville and the rest to organize the fix of the Dem primary to get empty suit Biden installed in office.
No way they’ll let Trump get back in office because this time he’ll completely clean house.
We’d also see Color Revolution-style riots prior to Jan. 6 from the leftists just like we see in France right now.
Black voters with half a brain will not be offended because they know Harris does not have a brain.

They might stand a chance if they nominate Gabbard or Kennedy who pretend to be moderates but actually have a red core.
Newsom seems highly likely to me. California is in shambles but he’s far left and has the ‘look’ of an installed POTUS Deep State would love.
Michelle Obama as the VP to get the black voters back. Blacks won’t then complain about Harris - who is only half black - being shown the door.
I think that’s the deal being worked out. Those two on the ballot.
Trump will sweep all states if they do this. Kamala, the quasi Jamaican/indian VP, will revolt against the party and take it down.
According to leftists, Barack Obama can run for VP and serve a third term by succession.

Kamala is right to be concerned, but not for the tribal (skin color) reasons. She is hoping to become the first woman president. But that role is supposed to belong to Hillary. And Hillary will kill to ensure that she, not Kamala, is the first woman president.
I guess the fact that Harris is NOT a black “African American” woman does not matter. Even the article states she is black.
Harris is demonstration of why DEI is bad. Equality is not the same as equity.

The Dems’ ONLY option to have a chance in November is to replace Biden with a Dem governor, who would be white, and she very quickly craps all over that idea to the press. She will go down fighting.
