President Biden on Monday congratulated Claudia Sheinbaum for her historic win after she was elected the first female president of Mexico.
“I look forward to working closely with President-elect Sheinbaum in the spirit of partnership and friendship that reflects the enduring bonds between our two countries. I expressed our commitment to advancing the values and interests of both our nations to the benefit of our peoples,” Biden said in a statement.
Sheinbaum, a climate scientist and former Mexico City mayor, is the first woman and the first Jewish person ever to be president of Mexico. She beat the opposition candidate Xóchitl Gálvez and Jorge Álvarez Máynez to win on Sunday.

I was in south Texas on a business trip. Rented a Ram pick up truck. I had to sign a statement that I would not take the truck into Mexico. Rental company said not because it might be stolen, but because IT WOULD BE stolen.

According to The World Almanac, Mexico is 95.5% including 84.6% Catholic. So almost 11% of Mexicans are non-Catholic Christians.
That should have read “Mexico is 95.5% Christian, including 84.6% Catholic.”

I’ve been to Mexico several times but the most recent time was more than 50 years ago, and have no desire to go there while it remains so violent.
I’m a Texas Native and Hispanic-a Tejana-I don’t know anyone like me who gives a rat’s ass what Mexico does-we are Americans and Texans-not Mexicans. We are voting for Trump for a third time and we have our FJB signs up.
Also-los carteles own Mexico and have for a few decades. Whomever the pres there is, they are only in charge as long as they do as they are told. This is Texas, USA-not Mexico-we are Texans-not Mexicans-so please stop crying doom and trying to lay it on Tejanos who never lived in Mexico...
