Biden congratulates Mexico’s Claudia Sheinbaum on ‘historic election’

President Biden on Monday congratulated Claudia Sheinbaum for her historic win after she was elected the first female president of Mexico.

“I look forward to working closely with President-elect Sheinbaum in the spirit of partnership and friendship that reflects the enduring bonds between our two countries. I expressed our commitment to advancing the values and interests of both our nations to the benefit of our peoples,” Biden said in a statement.

Sheinbaum, a climate scientist and former Mexico City mayor, is the first woman and the first Jewish person ever to be president of Mexico. She beat the opposition candidate Xóchitl Gálvez and Jorge Álvarez Máynez to win on Sunday.

Uh, you don’t think Sheinbaum got in with Mexican Mafia help?

Probably cost Soros and Fink about $200M in bribes to them to put her there.

Mexico is rabidly Catholic. How does a Jew from Eastern Europe end up in charge?

Yeah it is but only if it’s not a ratty, dumpy car. There’s a reason I drive around in a barely running, broken headlight, faded paint 2004 accord in Matamoros. The bribe to get your car back is usually between 2000 to 5000 pesos. Maybe more if it’s a nice car. It’s really up to the transition and how much money he wants

In Mexico, if you don’t have voter ID, you’re not voting. Period. Only if you have the card can you dip your thumb in the ink and cast your vote

If a Mexican Jew is anything like 90% of American Jews than Mexico is screwed (more so than usual)

Re: "Climate Scientist"

I stopped reading right there.

Soon, all of Latin America and the Caribbean will be Communist or trans-Socialist again.

Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Brazil.

Chile, which used to have the highest standard of living south of Texas, decided to elect a 36 year old President who was a former Student Activist and life long politician who represented three different Left Wing parties in a ten year period.

People from all those countries will come to the USA and vote for exactly the same kind of Radical Left candidates who destroyed their home countries.

Insane.

Joe’s already looking forward to sniffing her hair.

I think Joe prefers them younger. Much younger.

Is Mexico’s government actually functionally “in charge” anywhere in Mexico? Or is it all cartels calling the shots on every important decision there? I don’t ever seem to read about the government going after the cartels there in any meaningful way, I wonder if the governments elected in Mexico just quietly do what the cartels allow them to and get to live, while pretending that they are in charge?

Kind of like the Republican party.

100s of 1000s of Mexicans in US, legal immigrants, illegals, dual citizens are allowed to vote at Consulates. Some cities actually work with consulate and set up multiple voting locations paid for by the municipality.

Cmon Bertie, you can lie better than that. Am I the first one to tell you that we are ruled by criminals?

The Blue-Blood Families That Made Fortunes in the Opium Trade
Long before the Sacklers appeared on the scene, families like the Astors, the Peabodys, and the Delanos cemented their upper-crust status through the global trade in opium

Thus, for example, in a letter written shortly after Commissioner Lin Zexu shut down the opium trade in 1839, Robert Bennet Forbes, a young Yankee trader, explained that no other part of the foreign merchants’ business with China could function without it: “[T]he Opium trade being cut off there is no money… thus does the Opium Trade affect every one trading here and us too… we cannot get money to buy tea & so we do not get our commissions.”
